Okay so wait, I had a bit of my last post still saved, so let's try to do it again:

Today is December which means a lot of things, a) it's the birthday of a lovely lady, a very naughty one too, namely nicci_mac. Happy Birthday to you, Nicci! Hope you'll have a wonderful day *kisses* Then b) Christmas is coming, yay! c) Winter Job is in full force and I'll work all weekend, which is not so yay except it is because money and stuff and d) I need to go and find some Christmas icons now, though not the Christmas Hat icons as I still think they're ugly and also, they freak me out. Don't ask, they just do *shudder*

To keep with the theme, I pimp ts_secretsanta a The Sentinel community for the holidays. You remember TS, don't you? The dead fandom? Well the dead fandom will offer eighteen new stories right up to December 24th, ie one a day since it'll go live around the 6th. Death has never been so active than in my fandom, it seems. And no, I won't ever let the whole "dead fandom" thing go because sometimes you just need to point and laugh, alright? *feels protective of her very alive fandom*

I'd also written an ode to my love for Christmas with lots of "and" but the gist of it was: I love Christmas and you'll hear a lot about it in the upcoming weeks and never in a negative way because I don't give a damn about the commercialisation of it, I just see how warm and cosy and fun the whole thing is - so that we're clear on that. Also, I'd added that no, I'm not naive or anything thanks, I just love Christmas, period. That pretty much sums up the whole thing lol

Btw last warning: you'll hear about Christmas a lot in the upcoming weeks and never in a negative way, just so we're clear on that *g* I know I'll feel a little blue now and then because I'm missing my grandfather like crazy these days and also it'll be the first time in, well, around twenty years that we won't spend Christmas Eve at my grandparents' like we used to so we'll make a new tradition here but apart from that, it'll be the usual. So here it goes: I love winter, I love Christmas, I love the cold, I love the growing excitement til Christmas Eve, I love the madness of getting the presents done and the cards sent, I love the craziness that goes with it, I love the decorations in the streets and I love decorating my own tree and house, I love listening to Christmas songs all the time, love thinking of what we'll make for dinner and what we'll wear on Christmas Eve and I even love doing the groceries for the Christmas dinner even though it's completely insane in the shops during that period, I love the warm feeling of being together and how cosy it is. Oh and I love the cheesy Christmas movies they feed us during the holidays. Which btw, yay I love the holidays! The commercialisation of the whole thing? Goes beyond my head as I don't give a damn and see way past it and just - I'm not a Christmas hater at all. Nor am I a naive fool, thanks :-)

We never really celebrated Christmas in my family, so to me it's nothing special but it's always nice to see people love it without the whole "but it's so commercialized" thing. Who cares if some people are using it to make money, as long as you get enjoyment out of it.

Also (and it could just be my feaver induced imagination) did you mention something about needing a Christmas icon in your lost post? Here are some - 1, 2.

The dead thing comes from one ML where the "old guard" - read those writers who were there When The Fandom Was Born - keeps bitching about how the new writers in the fandom all suck, how it was better Before and how it's pretty dead now. RIGHT!

Who cares if some people are using it to make money, as long as you get enjoyment out of it.

Exactly. I mean, what isn't used to make money nowadays, anyway, right? So I don't care. And it's my favourite time of the year *g*

Sam watched as his brother gently stirred from slumber. Dean Winchester turned over in his half awake state and curled a strong arm around Sam's waist, in turn Sam placed his hand on Dean's shoulder and shook him slightly, encouraging him to fully waken.

"Wha?" Dean moaned. "Whah time 's it?"

"Almost 6"

"AM?"

"Yeah."

"Go bach 'o sleep."

"No, we have to get a move on. You have to get up and shower. Now."

Dean yawned and stretched, wiping the sleep from his eyes he stumbled out of the bed. "Don't see why we have to get going at 6am."

"Shower. Now." Sam ordered. "And save me some hot water."

"Y'know," Dean drawled as he strutted, shamelessly naked, across the small motel room. "It would be a lot quicker if we showered together." He turned and flashed the younger man a sly smile.

"No, I don't think we would."

"C'mon, Sammy."

Sam sat up and hurled a pillow at his brother. "Go, and stop being such a brat."

"Ohh what are you gonna do? Spank me?"

"Don't tempt me."

Dean turned back towards the bathroom and wiggled his ass suggestively, he stole a glance at the man in the bed, and his sly grin faltered. Sam looked back at him, a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Sammy?"

Sam threw off the bed covers and moved forward.

"Sam, you wouldn't." Dean said as he backed toward the bathroom. Sam smiled and lunged forward, catching the shorter man off guard. Dean did have the advantage of extra weight over his brother, but Sam had the element of surprise and some incredible upper body strentgh. Before he knew what had hit him, Dean found himself thrown over his younger brother's knees. "Hey, Sammy, this is not funny."

Sam answered him with a sharp smack on Dean's bare backside.

"Ow, godammit" Dean laughed

Sam did it again.

"Ohhhhh" Dean purred.

*Thwack* *thwack*

"Oww, ok I give I give." Dean cried as he tried to use Sam's legs as leverage to push himself up. "I give, I'm going, I'm going."

Sam laughed and helped his brother up. Dean ruffled Sam's already disheveled hair and made his way to the bathroom. "But you know," He said. "I was serious about the showering together."

Sam smiled and followed his brother.

You know the only people who think TS is a dead fandom are those who refuse to see that things evolve. That LJ is a good thing full of talented TS writers who keep turning out fantastic stories, where people comment and start new comms which encourage more stories and more fans. Where people still discuss the show and enjoy it. Because they think LJ is of the devil they stick to their old ways and miss out on so much, and you know what? Serves them right!
