Exam Week officially started and I'm so not in the right head space for it it's not even funny. I've been tired with a lot of things since October and I'm thinking of making some changes but dude, it's making me cranky. Well, not cranky cranky, just Mouse cranky so it's done quietly without much of a fuss but still...

Yeah anyway, I still had fun today, including a little VM watching between exam #1 and visit to one of The Best Friends.

So! I'm almost done with the first season of Veronica Mars. I'm two episodes away from the season finale. After that, I'll wait for greedy_dancer to burn the first part of s2 :-) But it also means that I might manage to catch up with the second part of s2 soon enough. I'll certainly download the new episodes so that I can start watching them as soon as I catch up with the missing ones.

No review or anything on my part, just the same thoughts as before: I love Veronica, I love Logan - I might even be kinda rooting for Veronica/Logan, but that's only in canon, as usual, cause fanon I'm all for Weevil/Logan - I love Keith. I'm quite taken with Wallace and Mac - oh and Meg as well. Duncan now... well, Duncan leaves me cold, I'm afraid. It's like he's here... but not. He's kinda transparent to me.

See? Still no VM icons nor long ass reviews. I can be a normal viewer, ie the kind that watches a show without obsessing over it. I mean... a normal viewer can watch a whole season in less than three days... right? Know what? Don't answer that - I don't want my illusions to be shattered.

I'll even change the subject and do that little SPN meme: the Name Three Things You'd Like to See Happen in the Show - and we're talking about the kind that can happen for real, nothing coming straight from the perverted imagination of a dirty little slasher.

So okay, three things...

1- I want to see John, Sam and Dean reunited. With physical contact. Actually, I'll take John and Dean but I guess it wouldn't be fair to let Sam out of it, so yeah I want to see them face each other. Technically, this should totally happen. So what I really want then is for John to hug the hell out of his boys - in particular Dean.

2- I want John to call the boys and ask them about the fucking phone call he received from Sam where he was told that his son was dying. Or if I can't have that? I'll go back to my #1 and add "I want John to hug the hell out of Dean and tell them both he's sorry he didn't call back but that he did keep track of them both and knew that Sam had saved Dean and that he's still sorry for not contacting them anyway."

3- I want a flashback of the Winchester family when they were together: I'm talking John and the boys. Either when Sam and Dean were little kids or when they were older, but I want me some flashbacks. Incidentally, I'm still waiting for that flashback in Numb3rs, I'm just sayin'.

In a word: Yes. I read a fanfic somwhere that had Sam calling back and going " Oh, he's fine now", and that would work for me too, but preferably John calling :)

Flashbacks are harder for me on both shows, mostly because I just have a hard time seeing the grownup characters in the (often miscast, in my oppinion) children playing them. And then there's the 'make him 10/20 years younger' that the father has to go through (altough in SPN that's not such a stretch, apparently the guy playing the father is only 11 years older than Jensen Ackles).. I love flashbacks, but they have to be done really well to work, and I'm sorry to say that I don't think they'd be able to pull it off...

My gut reaction to this meme is 'hand-to-hand combat'. I love the scene in the pilot when they fight eatchother, and I bet they'd look beautyfull(er) as a team, and in a lighting where you can actually see what they're doing :P

Technically, the series started with a scene that could be extended to a flashback - and I think it did work. That is, seeing the Winchester '22 years ago' that way worked for me - I'm not talking about anyone else *g* So I think they could pull it off. Now though, the teenage years would certainly be the hardest. Those ones, maybe they should try to avoid, I agree. But old flashbacks or relatively recent flashbacks... would rock, imho.

If they wanna show some of the early days with the boy who plays dean in the pilot that's fine, but I don't see how they could use that. I think that if they do it, I'd like a recent one with Dean&Dad in it, cause to go more than four years back when sam was still with them they'd have to do the 'younger' thing on Jared and I'd get ranky. But some Dean/john memories, now that would work just fine :)

As much as I love John, I'm kind of pissed that he never called to check on Dean. I mean, he probably knew that Sam would do anything and everything to save him, and as much as John and Sam don't get on, they love Dean and would kill for him. It probably says more about how much John trusts Sam to fix things, than anything else, but still.

I can't wait for episodes with the three of them. It has to happen! ::flails::

I like the idea that John trusted Sam so much that he didn't need to call back or something, but I can't believe it. I mean, no, I do believe he trusts his sons in what they do, but here, I don't see how he could have been sure it would all work out in the end - it was too delicate and desperate a situation and the sake was too high.

So, like you, and as much as I love John, I'm a little pissed as well, which is why I almost need to know what happened on his end after the phone call.

It can't not happen, can it? I mean, they have to give us this! As s1 cliffhanger or something, but I can't conceive SPN without at least one reunion...

There is something completely off with him. Dunno if that's how the actor plays Duncan or if it's something that has to do with the actor himself, ie that's just how he is IRL but there is something... off *shrug*

but you know, about Duncan (yeah, like i could talk about something else than VM), i don't think it's bad acting. there's not really a place for bad acting on the show, IMO it's the character that's just ... shady. you'll see! >.>

I don't think it's bad acting either - technically, I guess that's how we're supposed to see Duncan. And it works. But each time he's on screen, I have this weird feeling and it's just - well, yeah, it's off and it's odd.

On VM front, I so agree with the Veronica, Logan, Keith, Wallace and Mac love. As for Duncan, I'd say I dislike him but he's, like you said, too transparent for even that much. *nods in agreement*

I thought my opinion on Duncan might change a bit with s2 as the situation had changed and stuff but no. Transparent Man, that's him for all eternity in this show, it seems *shrugs*
