A bit of RL and a bit of CL.
Oct. 9th, 2004 11:42 pmBoy, I'm sleepy - but I can't let myself go to bed now because a) I just can't go to bed before midnight, my body wouldn't allow me to anyway, not yet and b) I can't go to bed before L&O:CI starts, it would be a crime or something - and btw? Lamest pun ever *blink*
So, I took Babycakes to the station this morning - as in early morning. Let me tell you, getting up at 7.30 am when you went to bed around 3.30 am isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. I was awake - sure, except okay, not really. Then again, that's what happens when your best friend comes to visit. You don't exactly sleep. That wasn't in our schedule - we had lots of things planned and sleep wasn't one of them - it was basically just an hindrance, so there *g*
What was included yesterday after I came back from the uni though was a) a movie, b) yummy Chinese take-out and c) a nice DVD session. LJ and mails being always implied, of course.
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind was great. Absolutely not what I was expecting, but definitely a nice surprise. And the cast was a surprise too - the only thing I knew beforehand was that Jim Carrey -whom I adore, btw - played in it, so when Babycakes started to mention Kirsten Dunst and Elijah Wood too, I couldn't help but bounce at the idea at having them all in the same movie *g*
I'm not sure I could really talk about the movie in depth if I were totally awake so in my fuzzy state? Seems like totally impossible. Let's just say I really enjoyed it - from the original story-line and even more original way it was filmed to the characters and the way they were portrayed. I'm really glad I suggested we went to the movies to Babycakes *g* Though to be honest, she was going to do it herself so yeah lol
Then we came back home and ate Chinese which was almost indecently yummy - IMHO at least - and then off for some more TV/LJ time, to finally end up watching RRRRrrrr!!!! which was hilarious and the kind of off-beat humour I love so much. Then again, I'm a big fan of Les Robins des Bois to being with, so it helped. While watching the movie and laughing my ass off, I couldn't help thinking that at least, this was a movie Hollywood wouldn't steal from us because really... I can't see how it would happen lol Another good point for RRRRrrrr!!!!, btw *nodnod*
Anyway it was a great way to end a great day - three days even. And this morning, it was time to go our separate ways... I didn't want to let her go, to tell the truth, but well... c'est la vie lol
Didn't exactly have time to dwell on her absence though, because on my way back I had to make a detour to the mall to buy a present to my cousin's girlfriend and when I was finally back home, it was to leave again - to my granddad's this time where we spent the day. We had two birthdays to celebrate. Chocolate cake, anyone? lol
Much fun was had even though there's this dark cloud above our heads that never really leaves now - it's always there and even the laughters don't make it fade away, though we do succeed in keeping it at bay at least, I think, for which I'm grateful. It's still a bit weird though - but I think we're doing really fine with the whole thing. And anyway...there's nothing to do except accept things as they are, be there and make sure every moment spent there will count. Not that they didn't before mind you, but somehow they have to count more now...
Anyway we had a great time over there but then we always do *g* And my godfather and aunt are spending the night. Methinks they'll sleep over tomorrow too, btw.
With those busy days of mine, I didn't have time to read more than three or four of the
sentinelsecrets stories. Don't think I'll be able to read more tomorrow either since The Clan has been invited home. Hopefully I'll do it the upcoming week. I've heard only good things about them all, and I'd like to join the fun *g* I also gave up on trying to guess who wrote what because I'm apparently incapable of doing that lol I guess I'll just wait until more observant people do their magic *g* I have to say I'm really glad I decided to participate because it's indeed quite fun *g* And I'll admit I'm real curious to know if some people actually guessed what story is mine. I can't decide whether the fic I wrote has my name written all over it or not... this should be interesting *g*
I didn't have time to read the essays posted on
idol_reflection either, which I need to do and soon because I have the feeling I'll like this comm as much as I do her big sister,
ship_manifesto. I also recognised some names from my flist, so I'm curious to see what they came up with *g*
Finally GIP and eeek L&O:CI is starting - gotta go!
