Story of my life
Jan. 26th, 2014 08:07 pmI'm miserably failing at this whole updating-my-lj-more business, aren't I? But I have reasons!
Main reason is the lack of energy once I'm home and free of any "extracurricular" activities. Ok, see work has only just started slowing down so I've had a lot to keep me busy there. I've been working on creating a website for my parents' small business (case in point, we worked on it all afternoon with my sister today) then went on to help a friend create one for her own small business as well. To make things even more interesting, I'm involved in a Mooc (both for work and for my own pleasure. I love Moocs in general and this one in particular, it is so much fun! The topic is transmedia storytelling and it deals with tv shows and comics and fan culture and omg I'm having a blast! Also, its very odd to realise that basically? I could teach this class! You could, too! Fandom has given us the kind of knowledge that could be used to teach a class at university level. Amazing!). And let's not forget my thesis, which I need to include in the equation.
As a matter of fact, the other day, I had a dream about my thesis advisor sending me an email telling me she was getting impatient to get something new from me. Guess my subconscious isn't even trying to be subtle anymore lol So I need to pick up the work in that department too!
Add to that the usual family and friends thing and, well, I can't deny that I could find the time to update my LJ but I'm usually knackered once I'm finally free to roam the internet purely for fun reasons and by then I just want to watch videos of my favourite lads doing the silly things lads do and read fic about some of those lads shagging each other blind. You know how it is.
Speaking of. (One Direction specifically, I mean, not the shagging-boys part.) I've spent a glorious evening last Tuesday watching This Is Us with![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
greedy_dancer. We started the evening with an interview I'd never seen before while having some Starbucks then unfolded her couch, got comfy, and proceeded to squee about and meta the hell out of the film. I loved it! Admittedly, I would have enjoyed seeing even more behind-the-scenes and as well as in-depth conversations from the boys but I had so much fun with the whole thing nonetheless! I just wish it'd lasted longer. I was ready for two more hours of it! I'll go back to GD's for some more 1D fest next week ♥
Confession time: another reason why I don't update sometimes? I'll write an entry and then, once it's finished, I can't help but think "what's the point?" and I end up deleting it. So I'm going to post this right away before this post suffers the same fate...
