I've been meaning to write (at least) one entry per week and [Update 1] I realised this morning that I hadn't posted anything yet so here I am during my lunch break, looking at the draft I started on Monday then kept on writing throughout the week and that I am [Update 2] - hopefully - finishing tonight. (Hi! Am back from a busy day at work followed with a little outing at the cinema where Cookie and I went to see Ad Astra. It wasn't what I expected but it was still really good and beautiful, nonetheless. Although I'm happy to report that Interstellar hasn't been dethroned in my heart yet).
Ok, so, eons ago I mentioned I was trying to implement a new morning routine to my life in order to add daily regular physical activities plus some "me" times to do "whatever struck my fancy" and that I was hoping this would also give me more opportunities to catch up with and post more regularly - well, to post, period - to my Livejournal. As far as the first part goes, it was a success albeit one I want to make properly regular (keeping the distance is often the problem, especially when it means getting up earlier than what I'm used to... actually, no, the problem isn't so much getting up earlier as going to bed earlier. That is the true challenge for me. So far, ever since I went back to work I've made a conscious effort to go to bed around 11.30 PM during the workweek and I think it'll be the earliest I can manage. If I can stick to that schedule, I'll be happy). The second part not so much. Since it's September and I need to get back on track, I was reminded of this wish of mine. So here I am.
Anyway, so far my morning routine (I feel so YT saying that lol) is to start the day with yoga practice followed with some exercises (mostly legs and core) then to chill or read or do some reading in Italian to keep practicing. Last year was my final year of regular courses, sadly. I might try to apply to a special course later on in the year but in the meantime, I've applied to German classes at the same school and I'm now waiting to see whether I got a seat. Wish me Glück ;)
I just want to dedicate my mornings to, idk, slow life, I guess? Some yoga, some reading, overall a quiet moment before the day truly starts and it gets busy and noisy and hectic. Even when fun things are planned - thank God, there's not just work! - I enjoy the idea of having some quiet time in the morning to reflect on things that are really just for me, be it physical, entertaining and/or educational. It sets the mood somehow. Let's hope it'll become a sustainable habit.
