What.a.day!
May. 7th, 2004 09:46 pmI'm dead on my feet - I think last night lack of good sleep is catching up with me. Still, I feel compelled to write about my day, because helLO it was great!
I'm always a bit anxious before I meet someone I only know from the net, because even though you might get on well with them on-line, there's no way to really know that you'll feel comfortable and relaxed with them once you'll be facing them for real, know what I mean?
But meeting with
yami_tai and her SO was just so much better than what I hoped *hugs self* It was great! I felt at ease immediately, and they're so friendly and nice and funny and everything *hugs Tai and Matt*
They're also really generous and classy, because know what? They paid for my ticket in the Catacombes *and* my drink at the salon de thé. That was so sweet!
So, our day. First we met at the Catacombes (Catacombs, obviously) at 2.00 pm *g* I arrived just in time - damn trains! I recognized Tai at the first glance thanks to some pics she sent me some time ago *g* It was her idea to invite me there, and I'm definitely glad I came!
I've never been there before, and wow it's so impressive! Creepy and pretty humbling. I mean, there're literally millions of bones (between 5 and 6) neatly packed and forming walls all around. Skulls, legs bones - bones everywhere! Really impressive.
Then we went to Saint-Michel and I brought them to a little ruelle - thought it had disappeared for a moment, I couldn't find the damn place! - where we went to a salon de thé. Drink and bakery for all of us. We spent a long time chatting up. Yes, I spoke in English. Didn't have any choice, and when I don't have a choice I do things I'm not comfortable with lol I was glad actually because their accent was really easy to understand. We spent quite a long time over there actually.
Then afterward, I brought Tai and Matt to one of my favourite shops - you know, the one where you find TV stuff, mangas (in English and French as a matter fact), comics and everything related to TV shows or science-fiction in general, and both Tai and I found something *g*
I sorta squeed twice because see, I finally found the Angel issue with Tom Lenk's interview and the first volume of Kizuna in French! twirls Tai got herself a volume of Saiyuki and Fake, and she squeed a bit herself. Don't let her say otherwise *eg*
So yes, yaoi and slashy fest for the two of us, but then what did you expect lol
Speaking of which, Matt is just so cool, he never even blinked, ya know? Not when we were rambling about LJ nor when we were having nice slash talks. It was actually pretty hilarious to hear him talk about gay boys getting it on as if he was a slasher himself, or talk about LJ as if he had his own lol He just goes with the flow, he cracked me up *g* Sweet and funny, that's what the guy is lol Well, Tai has to have good taste, I suppose *eg*
Finally, after we squeed and congratulated each other and ourselves about our brand new purchase, we realized it was already 7.00 pm, so we went back home. Well, I went back homed and they went back to their hotel *g*
Morality: time sure flies when you're in good company *g* I'm still hyper from my day *bounces*
Now I'm watching SG, and later I'll read my beloved Kizuna and the Angel magazine- woohoo!
What.A.Day indeed *g*

PS: I bet he did-- but hey, he deserved it lol Oh and tell him it's rainy and windy over here, so it wasn't just because you came for a short trip to Paris, all right? lol

*grins* Ah, but the weather is pretty crappy here too! I could wax lyrical about it being strange for this time of year and stuff, being unable to escape the British preoccupation with the weather, but I'll spare you ^_~!
