Another semi-rl post: as of yesterday morning, I'm an employee at the Hôtel des Finances - for the summer, that is. Fear me for I can mess with your taxes and make your lives a living hell, yo! Except not so much considering I'm sort of at reception... but it had an evil a nice ring to it *cough* Speaking of hell, that's how it felt at first cause those people? Don't speak French! They speak fiscalese [for the non Frenglish, that's the language of taxes and finances and all] and it's gibberish. Try helping people when you don't even understand what they want! So I had - still have - a whole list of weird terms to learn and a gazillion different situations to memorise to be able to direct those people properly - though by the end of the day, it already felt better. Definitely not the end of the world, but still intimidating, you know? Btw, I already have a favourite department, namely the cadastre one *clings*
Anyway, it'll be okay - besides, my friend Juliette happens to work over there so that's just lovely *g* And technically, I'm also learning lots of practical things that will serve me all through my life, so all in all, it's good. Also, moneymoneymoney!
But now, I just have one thing in mind - well, several but all net related: catch up with my flist and reply to comments first [I missed you today, guys! I mean, they don't even have internet over there! They do have that stupid intranet but that's all! I can't even update from work like lots of youbad employees lucky people do *pout*] and then read some fics - cause see, on my way home, I thought of that guy who yelled at me and I was like, some people suck, then bam! I had that image of Blair on his knees sucking Jim and pfew *fans self* Then I thought of that other guy who told me I had a beautiful smile and I was like, thank God for decent and nice people and this time I was thinking of sweet domestic scenes with Jim and Blair - for no reason, obviously, but that's how I felt - and just yeah, I need to read some Jim/Blair now lol
I also had a craving for some Numb3rs episode but I think that has to do with all the numbers and mathematics I heard about today... or maybe it just has to do with the fact that if I don't watch Numb3rs at least once a week, I go into withdrawal *ponders*
And they're airing Fullmetal Alchemist again, wheee!

Date: 2005-07-07 12:46 am (UTC)For the most part I work with really great people, but if I try reeely hard, perhaps I, too, can think of someone who sucks, so that delightful image you describe will pop into *my* head. hmmmm....I don't think I've ever written such a scene. ::ponders this::

I'm happy you found a summer job, it's always good to have extra monney, even if you work in the most hated department in the country. *g*
