Hee flist! I found a job! Or the job found me, whatever. I had an interview this morning and they said I was in. It's a CDD so it won't be a permanent one but it does mean that I'll be employed from September to December - and since the Winter Job starts mid-november and lasts 'til January, it also means I'll have a salary till 2007, it's a thing of JOY, people :-)

Also wanna know where I'll work? Cause it's awesome *bounces* I'll work... at the Sorbonne! Yes, the oh so famous and beautiful and classy and historically charged university omg! So okay, as long as I don't have the contract in my hot lil' hands, signed by all parties, I'm not stopping from crossing my fingers because you never know what might happen but still, I'm quite excited!

And something else incredible - I, Mousey Mouse, bought a skirt. As in, not jeans. Yes. SAM, Rosie, remember when I was whining that I couldn't find the kind of skirt I wanted? Well that was then, cause I found it today. I'll have to warn the whole family and assorted friends when I'll wear it for the first time though as - tbf!Sandrine's wedding excluded - they haven't seen me in a skirt since *counts* Around twenty years? Or more. But man a) it's so bloody hot that I thought it would be a good idea and b) I've been in the mood for a little change for some time so there.

For something a little less boring now - well, if you're into Numb3rs, or else it'll be as boring, mind you - I've just watched the original, unaired pilot of the series. Hee it was fun! The same but so different. Don wasn't Don, Alan wasn't Alan, Terry wasn't Terry. Charlie was Charlie but without Teh Curls, Amita was Amita but with glasses and Larry - Larry was Larry, as well as David who was David.

The spirit was the same, though the brother issue was a tad more emphasised from the start maybe. Not!Don wasn't so bad at all, but much more... reserved than our!Don? I don't know, our!Don is a pretty passionate man, not!Don sounded and acted in a more subdued way somehow, I think. He didn't suck, nor did not!Alan but man, they're not our Big Brother and Daddy Eppes, you know? *hugs current cast* I'm glad they changed some of the maths sequences though because I love the ones we have in the 'real' show but they were too much in the original one; like they were all over the place with quotes appearing on the screen at all times and stuff. Also that pilot seems to expose so many things, wow. As if they wanted to say it all in forty-two minutes.

Oh and a quote I loved from not!Alan to not!Don [about Charlie] "He's still trying to solve that problem he's been working on since high school... How to impress his big brother." Which, I know, isn't a new quote per se but I love that they knew what they wanted to do with the Eppes family from the start, even from the faux!Numb3rs :-)

A little football ref now: I'm rooting for both France and Italy so yesterday should have been a good day since Italy won against Ghana but seriously? I thought Ghana played and fought so well that I was almost disappointed that they didn't win, or at least score once. Hopefully I won't have that kind of traitorous thought later this afternoon when Les Bleus play!

Oh and a quote I loved from not!Alan to not!Don [about Charlie] "He's still trying to solve that problem he's been working since high school... How to impress his big brother." Aww!

Actually that's a quote that Judd!Alan and Rob!Don actually exchange. :) I can't remember which ep, I'm pretty sure it's not the pilot (although not 100% certian) but it was early in Season 1 and I remember that it stirred the beginnings of my Don/Charlie OTP :)

It was a quote - or the spirit of it if not maybe the exact same words, I don't remember exactly either - that we get in S1, yeah. The relationship between the members of the Eppes family was pretty much the same in both incarnations, which is a good thing as it's why I watch the show :-)

Go you ... congratulations on the job and the skirt :0) Wearing skirts gets like that doesn't it. Work pants and jeans get so comfortable that a skirt seems kind of alien. I'm sure you'll knock 'em dead!

Thanks *g*

Wearing skirts gets like that doesn't it.

It definitely does. I love jeans - though they have to be a special type of jeans or else I don't - and only wear those so it's gonna be fun lol

Ghana should have gotten that penalty kick, and also a red card for that foul against Iaquintha. I'm also rooting for Italy (as well as the Dutch, of cousrse ^_^), so I'm happy they won. Next time, Marcello Lippi, plz to be letting Del Piero play for more than ten minutes kthxbai.

I was happy they won; I just wish Ghana had scored at least once but, well, they didn't, so that's that :-)

YOU GOT A JOB! AT SORBONE! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU I CAN NOT STOP USING CAPS! *dances all around you* Seriously, 'tis most brilliant.

And something else incredible - I, Mousey Mouse, bought a skirt.

Hee, well, they do say change is good and I'm certain you look very hot and cute and pretty in in. *nodnod*

"He's still trying to solve that problem he's been working on since high school... How to impress his big brother."

And then there are some things that never change, which is only right because they are perfect just the way they are.

Hopefully I won't have that kind of traitorous thought later this afternoon when Les Bleus play!

Hmm, France is playing Switzerland, right? Switzerland with it's pretty Wicky and it's very own slashable twins? So, you know, if you do have any traitorous thoughts, just blame it on that. *helps*

Heee yes I did! I'll wait for the contract to be in my possession before believing it for real, you know how it is, but still, yay!

Hee, well, they do say change is good and I'm certain you look very hot and cute and pretty in in.

Stop it you *does the blushing thing* lol

The slashable twins... one of them, like, kicked Zizou on the head, I think. I'm not one of their fans now, as slashable as they might be lol And it's sad, when I watch a match, I'm so into it that the slash doesn't even interfer for a nanosecond, it's non-existent *sigh*

Yeap, un truc d'admin, je passe à l'enemi; si tout se passe bien, je serais au service compta de la fac, genre quand tu paies les droits d'inscription ? Et ben c'est là que je devrais être. On verra bien *fingers crossed*

Lol Were you lonely in your dressing-up-as-a-girl club?

I can believe it, actually, we watch pretty much all the matches we can here and yesterday even more so as France was there *sigh* I'm getting into it... more than I thought, it's scary.

N'a pas du tout fait entorse à sa régle 'pas de LJ avant la fin du bac' pour lire ton post (duh, I wish I'd be stronger!)

Sorbonne?? Waw, en effet, ça en jette lol! Tu vas faire quoi là-bas?

I didn't like the original cast. I thought not!Don was really mediocre. I can't believe anyone in that role other than Rob. The current cast is the shizzle, and it needs to stay that way forever and ever.

I want more classroom!Charlie. The writers don't want to do it because it's so typical and obvious, but Charlie lecturing makes me tingle in special places.

Numb3rs unaired pilot: that was weird, interesting and weird! I've just watched it too so I could comment *g*

The invasion of text on screen was way overdone, glad they got rid of that. Actually, I agree with most of your remarks. It also seemed darker, somehow, and more like a typical crime show.

Now I have a strange fondness for the not!Don, though. I liked the tension between them, a bit different from what we got in the end but still, erm, promising. ;) Don barging in on Charlie's class like that and snatching him away... Then Don taking his pass, and Charlie snatching a classified file, hmm. Can't decide between 'that was too much' and 'that was interesting.'

Changing the subject, I'm extremely curious now - what kind of skirt can catch Mousey Mouse's eye? Hope I'm not too nosy, but as a not-skirt person myself, I'm curious. :D

Date: 2006-06-14 08:42 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] castalie.livejournal.com
I do have a strange fondness for not!Don as well. The way he interacted with Charlie and the way Charlie reacted to him... it was cool. I think it might have been a little 'too much' but in the way pilots sometimes are. Maybe they would have nuanced the interaction a little afterwards? If they had the chance - or one might consider they actuall did nuance it...

Okay. So. I wanted to take a picture of Teh Skirt to show you but I lost my memory card *sigh* I did a little search and found something (http://cgi.ebay.fr/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6849745240&category=69907). It's not the skirt I'm wearing, at all, but the cut? Is the kind I like. So it's the cut spirit of my skirt *g* I like a simple cut, just below the knees or knees length - I don't like my legs, what can I say - without any frills or whatnot. The only frills I'll accept are the ones for a wedding outfit, not everyday outfit...

I do hope nothing will come between me and the job, cause it should be great. I mean, that's my favourite neighborhood in Paris and it's the Sorbonne! Talk about a gorgeous place to go work to everyday for four months :-)

I would recommend it, yes. It's not that bad. Also, I'd be curious to see what you think of not!Don. I do feel a 'strange fondness' toward him. Oh, he's no our!Don, but still... I uploaded the file and posted the link in my newest entry, if you're curious?

Lol If you come to see me, you'll get true evidence of me in a skirt. Nuff said lol
