I've been in the mood for some lj changes lately - I've been thinking of changing my default icon, my layout... and I apparently did it. Changed it all. I don't know whether I'll keep the new layout: I quite like the colours and all but it's so, I don't know, big. Two columns is too big, three isn't to my liking and I miss my little banner on the side now. Hmm we'll see whether I'll get used to the new look. [ETA: Ha, it's a not as large now, css is our friend! Might make it look a bit 'thinner' again later.]
Anyway, I took a day off today because I needed to change my glasses. They kinda officially broke on Sunday and I had to use glue to stick the side-piece to the rest of the frame and it wasn't exactly the most practical thing in the world. Considering I can't work without myeyes glasses, it needed to be dealt with pronto. So I did that this morning. As a result, I've lived in a blurred world all day, vague and blurred shapes constituted my world til I could get the new pair. Obviously I'm not blind but still, blur is my world without my glasses, is all.
Since it was no use trying to watch at the screen, be it the telly or the computer, I took advantage of my day off to finally finish Anansi Boys. I started it ages ago and I was always reading it on the metro except I'm pretty much always with someone when I'm taking it these days so it was never going anywhere. But I finally remedied that, planted myself on my bed and read it til the end and oh there are NO words for how much I love Neil Gaiman's work! I'll be forever grateful to
french_hobbit for offering me my very first Gaiman last Christmas - it was love at first sight and it's all thanks to her *kisses*
Also I don't have any new Gaiman to read at home so I'm looking for new ones and I meant to ask, is The Sandman: Book of Dreams a novel? Like American Gods etc? Cause I still can't get into comics but if it's a non-graphic story, it would be fantastic.
Speaking of books.
oceana_ linked us to one of the hottest picspam today: library smut. Go on and tell me it's not the hottest thing ever!

*nods* That makes three of us. (I'm counting Daniel. ;) )
Though you changed fandoms, I must admit that your new default icon is shiny.

Date: 2006-09-27 07:41 pm (UTC)That icon is one of my favourites - and it fits the colour theme of the layout so well too! I'm quite happy with the combo :-)

That's the V&A Museum's library in London. Sadly, it was closed when I went there.
