From the Mouse to the Snail, a Wonderful and Happy Birthday to you! And because good things sometimes go in pair, a Happy Birthday to
cain1999 too! Hope you both have a fantastic day *hugs*
This weekend I met with the French Posse Bis and met two new fangirls in the process - we had a blast and spent money on Starbucks and books. The usual. Then on Sunday tbf!Sandra and I went to The Esu's to celebrate my sister's and Sandra's birthdays - third time this week for the sis :-) We also watched Le Roi Soleil since the three of us are big fans. Incidentally, by the end of it, Sandra was hooked and she's thinking of joining us if we decide to go see the musical a second time in July.
As for today, well, I had to call in sick this morning. After one week, I'm so good! *cringe* But trust me, I just couldn't go there *shivers* So I've stayed in bed and OD'ed on my beloved shows.
I started with Numb3rs. Which was quite the inspired idea because the episode absolutely rocked!
Seriously dude that was one hell of a fantastic episode! There were so many good things I don't know where to start. But, okay, let's start with Don. Oh, Don! The session was seriously cool - it was also a lovely way to see the team through his eyes. I guess some would argue it was a sort of 'easy' way to do it, but I lapped it up. And I really like Mr Tough Shrink - sorry, don't remember his name. Loved his non-nonsense, tough, calm attitude and loved how he didn't take any shit from Don. He was smart and tricky and I really liked him... the way he led Don to the conclusion was pretty neat, imho. Loved Don's outbursts and his epiphany. And I adored his smile in that last scene.
We already knew about some of his issues but they were made even more intense here, I so enjoyed the whole thing. Of course, I was also pretty impatient to see what would happen when Charlie's turn came. And I was so not disappointed! Don's reaction was a joy to see :-) And I really liked how Mr TS included Charlie in the team. I mean, of course Charlie is part of it, but the way Don didn't immediately think of him that way... I don't know, I liked that moment. And what followed, of course. Those Eppes brothers, they're delicious. In their brotherly love and their brotherly issues.
And then we had the Don-less case. So okay, I already knew our boys and girls made a great team. Hel-lo! I've been following those guys for three years so I do know - but heee they were so fucking awesome that I might have fallen in love with them all over again! Megan so kicked ass as the leader - the way she profiled the father and made him cooperate was brilliant, and the way she handled the whole case! And David and Colby - running!Colby might be a new kink - were so efficient and smart too.
And Charlie and Amita! That season is the season that makes me dig the Amita/Charlie every now and then. "One Hour" was another instance where I did enjoy it - where I did believe in it, which isn't an easy feat when thinking of those two together, really. But it worked here. I thought they made a great team together.
I absolutely adored Charlie. Yes, I know, it's kinda redundant, but sometimes the love, it's even bigger than usual and I was totally there. Focused-intense!Charlie is pretty nice and I love how he was 150% into it...
And then there was the last scene in the little kitchen place and ohhh it was love! After the stress they all had to go through, it was brilliant seeing them relaxing and laughing together that way.
Then I followed with Heroes. PETER! Oh man, he kicked so much ass in that episode! I've loved Peter from the very first time I set eyes on his characters and throughout the whole episode I was squeeing silently because him using his power like that? Was all kinds of exciting! He was edgy and dangerous and so in control and I just love characters using their powers that way - it's always really hot.
They broke up my beloved Hiro-Ando Duo *wails* Nooo, Hiro, why did you do this? It's very noble of you, but Ando! He's your faithful sidekick... he's better than a sidekick, actually, you can't let him go *sniffles*
Isaac shot Simone! Man, I hadn't seen that one coming. I knew odds were someone was going to kick the bucket and it would be because they'd been killed by someone else - I was sorta spoiled - but I wasn't thinking of Simone and Isaac at all.
There're so many players in Heroes and they're all playing so many games that it's a miracle you can still follow it :-) I just love how everyone is siding with everyone else, changing side knowingly, changing side unbeknownst to them, changing the rules, adding some new ones, finding new allies, finding new enemies etc etc... It makes for nice twists all over the place and those writers know how to keep us on our toes. My love for that show, it knows no bounds ♥ ♥ And since I was so late, I won't even have to wait that long to get the new episode, so it's of the good *g*
After that I carried on with Life on Mars 2x03 - that second series is absolutely brilliant!
I started watching Psych but couldn't keep my eyes open and fell asleep - which should tell you how bad I felt if I couldn't stay awake for that show. Poor Shaw and Gus and Lassiter, victims of my bug! I'll remedy that asap, promise, guys.
Oh and I've been in a L&O:CI mood like you wouldn't believe the past few days. I wasn't feeling well last night already so could only watch, like, the first five minutes of the show on the telly and so today I've been in a bit of withdrawal. And sadly I'm having the hardest time finding torrents for season six. Or any other season. I have no idea why. Thank God
babycakesin is coming to my rescue with some of those. In the meantime I'm watching a gazillion clips over at YouTube. And I might have caved in and ordered the first season box set. Hee Bobby and Alex in my home forever!
