Wedding Banquet, Van Helsing, Chimera -- nice stuff *g*

Finally saw The Wedding Banquet. Really sweet movie. I think my favourite characters are actually the parents. They were particularly moving and endearing, despite their flaws and despite the fact that they all entered the mess because of them. In the end, all they wanted was for their son to be happy. The scene between Simon and Wei's father in particular got me teary a little bit.

Oh, speaking of movie. I should go and see Van Helsing sometime this week with Manu- woohoo! Manu who came back from his retreat, by the way. And when I say retreat, I do mean it. Think monk, think monastery, think... Vow of Silence *g*

Next week should be nice as movies and shows are concerned since M6 will be showing Chimera on Friday (14th)! Woohoo again. This is another episode I've been waiting impatiently *g*

The scene I love with the mother is right after Wei came out to her and we see her in the kitchen with Wei Wei and Simon. Like she did with her 'daughter-in-law', she's now asking about her 'son-in-law''s family and past. So okay she definitely has a hard time accepting his son isn't 'normal', but she's trying... I just thought it was really sweet *g*

And YEAH it was today! When Manu asked me whether I wanted to go to the movies and what movie I wanted to see my first reaction was something like :

Areyoukidding! OfcourseIwanttogothemovies VAN HELSING MAN VAN HELSING! OMG!!1!

So I sorta had to rephrase my reply lol

I love that movie to death, and oddly enough the second time I saw it, my parents watched it with me. My skin was crawling, I'm all, don't ask why I'm watching this, don't ask why I'm watching this, but I guess they figured I was watching it because half of it was in another language and I watch a lot of those.

Oh, and could you explain French cinema for me?
