Of RL and TV

1.I had a Very Important Appointment yesterday after work and as a result I sorta have my own flat! It's been months in the making and that's it, it's official now! I'm actually going back to the sources since it's where I grew up. It's pretty much brand new, I'll just have to do some minor renovating, which I'll start next week - new wallpaper for the bedroom, stuff like that - and then it'll be ready for me to move in! I won't be ready before a couple of months, though, I sorta need furniture and, well, everything you need to live in your home but I'm thinking this summer at the latest :-)

The timing is pretty nice, too, since I took four and half days off for Easter break - what with Monday being bank holiday, it means I'll go back to work on the 16th, which seems a lifetime away so yay! vacation! - so I'll be able to work at the flat during my break. Things are going even faster than I expected, it's all so exciting!

2. Hey, The Cellie invited me to La Nouvelle Star [French Idol] on Wednesday. She had one spare ticket and thought I might enjoy coming with her and her friends. I had other plans already so I declined but I thought it was very sweet of her... I've been invited to the next show as well, though I don't think I'll be able to go either. I usually never watch La Nouvelle Star but Teacher Girl is a fan and so I've been following the first castings from afar... I might even have watched one episode on my own volition and everything.

3. I've just finished watching The Black Donnellys - yes, I'm home btw, this afternoon was my 1/2 day off - and I loved the episode, no surprise here.

Kevin's reason for believing he's lucky was the most heartbreaking and also sweetest reason ever! I always wondered about it and they so delivered! Kevin, I love you so ♥ ♥

And Jimmy! God, Jimmy, you totally floored me with your giving the money to Sean - without telling anyone about it and thus letting people think you were being a jerk as usual - and with your speech. His "Bob the Mouth belongs where he belongs, he doesn't count. Now you and me and Kevin and Tommy, that's all that counts" killed me dead *loves*

They used Death Cab for Cutie's Brothers on a Hotel Bed! The episode already had won, like, a gazillion points for merely existing, but it won some bonus points with that one.

I just can't come to terms with the whole cancellation thing, that show is so bloody awesome! Kevin, what will I do without you now? *cries* And what of the rest of the family! And Nicky! I loved Nicky - it's the Italian side of me that can't help being attracted by mafiosi when they're on the telly, it's like a compulsion - and his voice *sigh*

4. Some good news re: another of my favourite under-appreciated shows - except that one wasn't pulled off the air : season two of Kyle XY should premiere on June, 11th? I'll be in Norway by then but it'll be a nice thing to come back to *g*

You're in for a treat if you're behind TBD - apart from the whole 'no more TBD ever' thing, which sucks beyond the telling of it, mind.

Dude, dude! I didn't even tell you that Clark's room will also be the guest room and that now if you want to come to France, you can! Well, once I'm all settled in the new flat and everything but you know what I mean :-)

OMTyay! Dude, you know I want to! :) So, you know how I am with plans and superstitions, but when would be an estimated good time so I can not-plan vacation time? If you know it, that is, I know how this house renovation/furnishing goes... (I.e. unpredictable, though I definitely hope it goes without any bumps in the road for you!)

PS: totally random, but I'm reading this book, Cryptonomicon*, and suddenly there are these two young gun-carrying brothers, one of whom drives a modified Impala! The resemblance kinda stops here, but I couldn't stop giggling for a while... :D

*Let it never be said that book piracy doesn't lead to book-buying: downloaded it as txt, fell in love, couldn't bear reading hundreds of pages on the monitor, made dad buy the book and send it to me.

Well, I was hoping you'd still want to, but you never know, right? *g*

And okay let's talk seriously. About the estimated good time thing? I have no idea. It's not a cop out, but here how it goes; first, I need to be living in the flat which I'm not right now, I'm hoping that I could move out/in by, I don't know, June, or something? But after that, I'm going on vacation for a week.

Then in August, I should have some days off, except I still don't know when. The university should close its doors and my department should as well, except I still don't know whether it'll really do, and most importantly, when it's supposed to happen. Also, my mom would like us to go away for a week again - except that's really not a definite plan...

So what I'm saying is, that, I don't know, August could work? But I need to know exactly when/if I'm supposed to have days off and if I'm even in Choisy by then! There's also July, I might be able to take a day off or something too, but it would have to be during the weekend, anyway. I don't know how free you are yourself...

I'll definitely get back to you, anyway. And soon, so you can plan stuff.

Mind you, la casa di Mouse would be open all year so we'll have find the correct time slot, it's inevitable.

Re: PS. The resemblance might have stopped at the 'gun-carryings brothers, one of whome drives a modififed impala', but it would have made me giggle too because heee resemblance!

I'm really happy to be getting on so well with her, especially as so many people seem to have a problem with her. I'm glad I didn't listen to what they were saying *nods* I just waited to see for myself. And that's the result I got. So far, so good.

They couldn't have given a better reason for Kevin believing he was lucky; it was just gorgeous! And Jimmy! Man, what that show does to us!

Travelling is always made so much easier when you 'only' have to pay for the train/plane tickets, isn't it? I say 'only' because even those aren't always the cheapest, granted, but it's still better than having to pay for everything.

I'm pretty excited about the idea of being able to really invite people over now. And since I had the pleasure of being invited to the UK by an ljfriendturnedrlfriend once, I can't wait to be able to return the favour, and extend it to other friends from the flist :-)

Thanks! I couldn't afford that flat in Paris, believe me lol It's still in Choisy, just another neighbourhood; the one where I grew up til I was sixteen :-) Like, I don't know, a ten minute walk from where I'm living right now?

As for the Norway thing; one of my cousins work for a big firm and TPBT organise trips abroad for their employees, even the small fishes in the pond. In June, it's a week in Norway. Usually outsiders can't join them but this time they could so we'll go with her *g*

Hey, no, like I said, it was pretty funny seeing you pop so many times. When I saw the series of comments, I actually thoughts LJ had gone insane and I thought it might be the same comment that had been posted a gazillion times but no, there all were different :-)
