I'm back to work tomorrow. And I can't even find it in myself to feel bad about it or anything. I think when the weather is as good as it has been the past week, just about everything looks sweeter to me, work included. Now let's just hope it doesn't rain tomorrow! *fingers crossed* I've become quite used to going out in jeans and tank top sans coat, I have to say *nods*

So. I had a lovely weekend. I saw the French Posse Bis - I guess I should find another nickname for you girls but for now you're stuck with that one - on Saturday morning. First, Starbucks - duh! - then... Miss Cookie got herself a tattoo! And between angeliksmall who was on her way to get her tattoo and ephyse and daiyaa raving about theirs, I actually considered - for the very first time in my life - getting one myself.

I find tattoos insanely sexy - well, I'm not a big fan of the huge ass tattoos, admittedly, but the smaller ones, I find quite often really sexy. My favourite places for them are the nape of the neck and the small of the back. Except I always thought that if I ever got ink myself, I would want to be able to look at it, so aforementioned places would be perfect on the future new girlfriend, for instance, but not on me. And then I saw ephyse's and daiyaa's own tattoos, on the inside of their wrists and oh yeah they're awesome! If I ever got one, I think that's where I'd want to get it. Except I might be a wuss but it does feel like a painful area to have a tattoo - and the story those two told about the whole tattooing thing? Didn't exactly encourage me lol But. Anyway. I'll think about it *nods* I know what I'd want written btw; Wincest is the best. In small font. In Elvish.

What? I could totally want that!

Incidentally, because fanfic imitates life; someone started a new J2 AU verse which I'm quite smitten with already. It's incompletework2's tattoo 'verse, where the boys are tattoo artists. And yes so I might like big ass tattoos in fics.

Unrelated now. Warnings in fandom is a pretty hot issue, to include them or not is a topic that seems to always pop up... But there's something that we never really talk about, it's the expectations one might have when reading them. And the other day I was pretty disappointed when an author warned about 'rough sex' because that's exactly what I was in the mood for - and okay so I'm kinda always in the mood for that - and after reading the fic, well, I'm still waiting for the 'rough sex' to happen. It kinda left me hanging *pout* Though it never fails to amuse me how someone's version of rough sex will be someone else's version of tame and sweet. Still, it totally was false advertisement omg!

Ack! Tats, no! They look *awful* when you're old, take it from me! My dad has loads he got when he was in the army and, I'm sorry, but not a pretty sight.

I saw a nice butterfly one on a lady's wrist once, that she got in memory of her mum, but all I could think was how bad it'd look in 20 years time :-(

It's a known fact that tats don't age well; and that's also one of the reasons why I would never get one that is bigger than, say, a word on my wrist or anything. But I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be traumatised by the sight of that kind of tattoo, even in twenty years.

And twenty years of a nice tattoo is still a good bargain for me. Still, I never do things without thinking it through so I can tell you I haven't decided anything yet *g*

Well, of course, that was entirely my opinion and I didn't mean to cause offence. I can see how a word might be different, but even the ink used for those fades over time and doesn't look so good. Definitely not something to rush into...

Well, I'm a huge fan of tattoos, as I've got two and will undoubtedly get more. But where is a big deal. Inside the wrist: that would hurt like hell. I must admit, I've thought about getting one there myself (it's a fandom thing) but I'm chicken.

They're both my own designs. The first is on the back of my neck (uncomfortable to get done but didn't hurt at all) and is Stargate-related. The new one is on my right forearm (hurt like hell when it was healing) and is sort of a fluid tribal design. It's not directly fandom-related but sort of fandom-inspired.

I'm already thinking about getting a third. Just thinking, at the moment, though. Haven't started on a design.

You and me both. A lot of tattooists won't do the inner wrist, but I thought about getting one there for a long time. I was actually gonna get the Watcher symbol, until Bryn explained why it would hurt so much :-) Then I chickened out. I might still do it someday, though.

I'm totally getting a tatto someday. Someday. When I get off my ass and, you know, actually do something about it, instead of just thinking it. So, possibly around the time I'm 40. ;)

It's funny because I'd never really considered getting one myself, you know? Except I realise it was more than I didn't want something too visible and at the same time not visible enough for me, so now that I really found the perfect place - I mean, I really the girls' tats - I'm thinking, hey, why not?

It's the opposite with me, I love warnings. Only if because what would be a warning not to read the fic for someone else - dark fic, non-con, stuff like that - is an incentive to read for me. So I'll choose those fics first sometimes :-)

i actually considered getting a tattoo when in Tahiti, and then later in NZ. something at the ankle, like a tribal/Maori design ... but it's too big a decision to take, i prefered waiting - and also, chicken!

re: "wincest is the best", you should totally get something that says "YAY INCEST" or "I ♥ NON-CON" or "REAL MEN BOTTOM". that'd be so cuuuuuuuuuuuute! ;)

I'm a big fan of tattoos as well, but I could never get one. The only design I'd be happy seeing for the next 20 years would be the Watcher Tattoo on my ankle (just cause it looks really cool), but I don't dare get it because I don't want people to think I'm some rabid fangirl. I generally settle for giving tats to my characters.

Both Chris and Kay have just got new tattoos. Kay Brock's name on the nape of her neck and stars on her hand, Chris Hallie's name and some kind of dragon thing. Those two are huge, spreading over his back.

I love ink, but haven't considered getting any myself. Who knows what will happen in the future though?
