La Douceur de Vivre
Aug. 5th, 2007 08:03 pmAnd this was yet another weekend to bottle up and never let go.
I sorta went to a sea resort. There was a swimming-pool there and we spent the whole week-end swimming, playing silly games in the water with our Care Bear ball - yes, Care Bear, so what? - and we played some badminton and frisbee and we sunbathed a lot - 30°C yesterday and up to 40° today - and we BBQed and had pizza and ate pains au chocolat and gourmandises and croissants at 4.00 PM because the goûter is an important part of the day - Hobbits would totally approve - and we just had a fun and Omg So Relaxing Weekend; the kind that makes you forget about the real world :-)
And okay so it wasn’t exactly a sea resort. It was not even far from my place since it was in Vitry-sur-Seine, ie plain in the city and a fifteen minute drive from where I live. Thing is, The Esu live in a secluded area of the city and when you’re up there, it feels like you’re away from everything. Especially as their garden is hidden from view. So it wasn’t really a sea resort, but everything else was true.
They took the swimming pool out of the garage last week and put it up in the garden and since we knew it would be a hot and sunny weekend, we’d planned on taking advantage of it. My cousin La Globule was with us and the four of us had an insanely amount of fun. Felt like those times when we were kids and were on holidays in the South of France... you know, those lazy days where you do nothing but have fun and have fun some more, you do nothing but be together and appreciate life at its most peaceful? Yeah, just like that *g*
Oh and on Saturday evening, we went to the château de Versailles to see the Grandes Eaux Nocturnes, which is a two-hour show held in the gardens of the Château at nightfall. Even better yet, we went there because we know a guy who works for the show and so a) it was free for us and b) he let us in the Gardens before the crowd was allowed, which means that for a little while it was just the five of us - The Mom was with us - in the Gardens of Versailles... how fantastic was that? ♥ ♥
PS: Tomorrow is supposed to be Transformers Day, woohoo!
