I've received bad news after bad news this week. I'm so ready for it be over! It'll mean I'll be back to work, yes, but at least I'll be able to put it behind me and just forget about it *mimicks Teh Ackles on icon*

Yesterday offered me great distractions in the form of a whole day spent with [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound and her brother and it helped a lot. We had some nice breakfast - nothing ever beats croissants and pains au chocolat for breakie, really - then early afternoon we headed to Paris for a little Starbucks then off to the cinema we went.

We saw Distburbia, which we really enjoyed. I also think I'm not cut out for thriller and/or horror movies. They're so bad for my nerves… though, okay, the thrill is the whole point and scaring yourself is a lot of fun, but still… Incidentally, I love Shia LaBeouf, he was awesome in the film. Guess this summer was about that actor; first Transformers, now this. Nice :-)

Unrelated, I've been looking at this Fall TV schedule and turns out my download list won't be that different from last year. I thought I'd have many new shows to add to the list but so far I've only added Pushing Daisies and re-added Prison Break. Mind you, 'so far' is the keyword because we all know how it usually works.

For my own reference, this is supposed to look like this.

Dimanche: Dexter (30 septembre?)
Lundi: Prison Break (17 septembre) / Heroes (24 septembre)
Mercredi: Pushing Daisies (10 octobre)
Jeudi: Supernatural (4 octobre - seriously why is it in October?)
Vendredi: Numb3rs (27 septembre)

I'm also thinking of adding Cold Case somewhere in there... I usually wait for French tv to air the show but wouldn't it be nice if I watched it semi-live?

*hugs* I thought of you today. And it was very nice and I'm glad we could take your mind off things a bit, though we couldn't make the bad things completely go away. :-(

you know how I have the habit of scanning an entry before reading it? well, I saw the days and thought it was your weekend plan and when I saw 'Monday - heroes', I started squeeing - then I read the actual sentence *giggles*

anyway... I'll be able to watch Pushing Daisies this weekend, we'll see how it goes *g* (Heroooooes! I can't wait to start season 2!)

Sorry about life being a bitch at the moment... email to follow *hugs*

Can't wait to see what you'll think of Pushing Daisies *crosses fingers so that you love it too*

Thanks, this week sucks, it's a fact. And, btw? I much prefer this comment over the one you deleted :-) It's just one line, but it makes all the difference in the world.

Wait...you also watch COld Case? Damn, we should just put up lists of shows we watch and compare- there must be a ton we have in common!

I love Cold Case, especially the way they use the appropriate music. Unfortunately, that's also the reason why the show will never come to DVD, despite it's popularity. The music rights would just be too expensive, or so I read.

Lol Dude, we really should make a list, yes. On the other hand, I like the effect of surprise :-)

I love Cold Case, especially the way they use the appropriate music.

I second that. I adore the choice of mucis, it's such an important part of the show.

Unfortunately, that's also the reason why the show will never come to DVD, despite it's popularity. The music rights would just be too expensive, or so I read.

Funny you should say that as I was talking about the DVDs and the reason why they still haven't been released to a friend just yesterday. Anyway, I've read about it too.

I've noticed in some DVD sets I have, such as Roswell and don't laugh at me here, Dawson's Creek, they actually changed the music altogether. I know they cut "Nights in White Satin" out of the Wiseguy DVD, which I know refuse to buy on principle. That song had such an impact on those final scenes that hearing anything else would be an insult.

So yeah, add Roswell, Dawson's Creek and Wiseguy to my list of shows. Did you ever watch Odyssesy 5? Chris Gorham was fantastic in that, too.

Oh, I'd never laugh at anyone's DVD collection, believe me. Or I'd have to laugh at mine, you know? *cough*

Did I ever watch Odyssey 5? DUDE! I have the DVDs lol And I don't mean burnt DVDs, I mean, you know, real DVDs and everything.

Odyssesy 5 is definitely on my list of DVD sets to buy. But I have a bunch of others ahead of it though. Season 6 of Smallville, season 2 of Supernatural and Bones, and Heroes comes out this Tuesday. Thank God it's only a month away from my birthday- I can ask for some of these for birthday gifts!

There's another box set I'd LOVE to have with Christopher Gorham, it's Jake 2.0. Were the DVDs even released? I was so desperate for some Jake 2.0 that I downloaded four episodes in Italian. So okay it's not a problem as such since I can follow what is happening anyway but I wish I'd found an English version because, well, original versions are always better :-)

From: [identity profile] luvmax1.livejournal.com
I really have no idea if Jake 2.0 came out on DVD. I taped it off the TV when it ran initially, though the network pulled it before it completed it's run. I read about the final episodes in a sci fi magazine, and I taped them when the Sci Fi Channel aired the whole series. It's not really on my list of DVDs to get, so I never even checked to see if it was coming out on DVD.

I'm so sorry that you've had a crappy week off!

Your autumn schedule looks good, what is Pushing Daisies about? *is being lazy and not looking it up*

I'm so sorry that you've had a crappy week off!

You and me both. Guess it's just one of those weeks, you know?

what is Pushing Daisies about?

It's about a guy, Ned - a quirky, adorable man, btw - who discovers when he's a kid that he can bring people back from the dead with a single touch. There's a caveat though; the first touch brings them back to life, a second touch makes them dead forever. And there's more; if Ned doesn't bring the person back to death in the following minute of their resurrection, someone else dies in their stead.

As an adult, he uses his abilities - more or less forced by a PI - to solve crimes... and, incidentally, win the reward. To his defense, he doesn't really like doing it, it's not really ethical or anything, but, you know *shrug*

Things get more complicated when the murder he's supposed to solve involves his first - and only - love... And, okay, I could go on and on but you also need to see the way it's filmed, the style, which is really different from our other type of shows, so go here (http://abc.go.com/fallpreview/pushingdaisies/).

The Voice Over? Is the show's narrator. I just adore it!

Sounds good, his power reminds me of the gauntlet they had in Torchwood. I'll definitely check it out... Thanks for the rec!

Actually, I'm more interested in Chuck than in Pushing Daisies to be honest. PD feels a bit too much over the top for me >.< And did you try Reaper? I don't like it but I'm curious what you'll think about it.

I downloaded Reaper but I think the file was corrupted and I couldn't watch it. And I have to say that I didn't think of downloading it again. I guess I should download it again and try it properly because I was a bit curious about that one.

Well, I downloaded it and watched it but to be honest, I wasn't all that impressed. But maybe it's because I don't like the humor of Kevin Smith. I find it too vulgare :(
