Apr. 13th, 2004 12:51 amHad a *wonderful* time today again. Rissy and I didn't do anything extraordinary, but I enjoyed our day all the same.
First, I *finally* went to Starbucks! For the first time in my life! I know how blasé some of you must be about it and everything, but I've been wanting to see one in France for ever, and when it finally happened --in Paris-- I was pretty excited *g* So today, we finally got to pay a visit to Starbucks. I was so not disappointed! It's exactly like I thought it would be *g* So cozy! I'm afraid we couldn't stay though, coz there were too many people and not enough comfy armchairs *pout* I picked a frappucino au caramel and a mi-cuit au chocolat - which is nothing more than our fondant au chocolat btw, but whatever *g* Yummy! *smacks lips*
Afterward, since we couldn't have our drinks inside, we chose to go to the Palais Royal garden. I love those gardens in Paris. My favourite is the Luxembourg garden, but they're all beautiful. Beside, the weather was our friend today - it was so warm that I stayed in tee-shirt all afternoon, which in turn might haven't been such a good idea to be honest, since I'm coughing like Gollum again after a day of calm *sigh*
Anyway, we drank and ate our Starbucks goodies in the Palais Royal garden, surrounded by children laughters and birds songs - it was great *g* You don't hear the cars or any other city related noise over there - it's so peaceful *g*
Then at one point, we started to hear what sounded like opera... we came closer and indeed, there was this couple, performing for everyone who felt like listening, right here in the middle of the garden *g* They sang opera classics for half an hour *g* They had such beautiful voices- it was absolutely wonderful *g*
Finally, at 6.00 pm we left the garden and went to the Louvre. The museum was closed by then, but the shopping arcade wasn't so we did some cruising before coming back home *g*
Man, we had such a classy afternoon! lol
And now, I'm going to read some slash. I mean, classy is good, but pervie is better *eg*

Date: 2004-04-12 04:58 pm (UTC)You know, I've never been to a Starbucks. But then again, je n'aime pas le cafe.
(How does one use accents on LiveJournal? I haven't been able to figure it out and have been feeling like a chump not putting in accents and such. Thanks!)

Date: 2004-04-13 03:14 am (UTC)I'm French actually. I don't live in Paris though, but in the suburb- with the RER and métro (train and subway) it's really close though, so I go there every time I want to *g* I used to go the uni in Paris as well, and I worked on the Champs Elysées (job student) but now I'm back in the suburb, so I only go to Paris when I'm going out with friends or when I want some stuff I can't get in the suburb.
