Is anyone else still watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles? Cause I most certainly am and it feels like I'm getting into it a bit more each time. Which I'm not sure is such a good idea because I have the feeling it's not going to last long, so it'd be a shame to get invested in it if the show is to pull a John Doe on us. Wait, it hasn't been canned already, has it?

Anyway, I just watched "Queen's Gambit" and I really enjoyed the episode. Also, I'm hoping that Derek won't die - or if he has to, that we'll get to see a little bit more of him before he kicks the bucket - because I like the connection with John. Though the man is a danger for his family, dude. First his dad, then his uncle? No-one is safe! And Cameron is still cracking me up and I just love her to pieces. I especially love seeing her kick asses ♥ ♥ I still think it's stupid that the writers had her behave a certain way in the pilot if they were to forget about it completely in the second, but I admit that it's much more fun to see her acting like she is now so I'm not complaining. Oh and Sarah keeps being completely pairable with John Winchester. I'm actually trying to decide who, between the two of them, gave the most screwed up childhood to their kids... I mean, Sarah actually brought her son to a combat zone in South America. Dude. That's fucked up!

Yeah I'm having fun with that show it'd seem :-)

Unrelated now. A little meme, gacked from [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi.

9. I find your lack of faith disturbing.

10. Il est bizare ce sol, il est pas palpable...

Oh and I'm supposed to add that you're not supposed to cheat. Which is just weird. In my family, cheating is totally part of the game. Actually, it's not even cheating because everyone knows that everyone else is doing it, you know? Which, actually, has absolutely no bearing on this so I'll shut up now and maybe go and watch the pilot of jPod.

#9 is Star Wars :-) I only knew the quote in French, actually, so had to go and look up the English version.

As for #10, it's from Astérix et Obélix: Mission Cléopâtre, which was a pretty big hit here :-)

I didn't think I'd get that much in the show. I mean, of course it's nothing like my love for SPN or N3, but I'm still really enjoying it and waiting for each new episode impatiently :-) Which is always a nice feeling for a fangirl to have *g*

I just hope they'll bring the show back after it's current run. I hear that considering what it costs to make the show, the powers that be aren't too thrilled with the ratings. Networks never give their shows a chance to catch on anymore, it seems.

I agree with you here; it feels like TPTB have been pretty hasty in pulling some shows off the air without really giving them a chance.

I am still watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. And I love it to BITS!

I haven't watched "Queen's Gambit" yet (that's for today, for when I get home), but I fail at not reading spoilers, so now I am even more excited then before.

Oh and Sarah keeps being completely pairable with John Winchester.

"Queen's Gambit" was pretty cool. And I'm not spoiled at all for next week's episode but I'm hoping it'll be even better. I'm hoping Derek will still be here. We might even learn some great stuff from the future, you know?

I loved the ep and I love Derek. I'm usually a sucker for backstories, but here (where we already know the backstory) it's the glimpses of the future that bring me joy.

I want storytelling times with uncle Derek. *nods*

Is anyone else still watching Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?

Goddess, yes. So far, I'm enjoying it. It's not grabbing me the way some shows do, but it's good.

Oh and Sarah keeps being completely pairable with John Winchester.

Hm. They'd make a good couple, that's for sure. I'd read that crossover, but I can't see myself writing it. He'd fit very well into her world, but I'm not sure she fits in his.

I'm actually trying to decide who, between the two of them, gave the most screwed up childhood to their kids... I mean, Sarah actually brought her son to a combat zone in South America.

But she didn't abandon him in it. Her choice is pretty logical: although the terminators can show up anyplace, in her head the threat was probably in the USA. So taking him out of there, to a place where no one would think she was nuts to go around heavily armed, makes a lot of sense. Gutsy choice.

John on the other hand...I love the man, but as a responsible parent, he fails. His choices didn't prioritise the boys' safety. Not to say he didn't care, but they weren't top of his list all the time.

It hasn't made it to my Favourite Shows either but I'm enjoying it a lot too *nods*

I wasn't really serious about the whole 'sarah might be worse than John' thing, actually, so I didn't really think about it...

As it happens, I'm not sure I can really compare them for real because, somehow, it feels like they're treating the consequences of Sam and Dean's upbringing in a more 'realistic' way than they're doing with John's.

I'm not sure I'm making sense here, but in a way, we can really see the aftermath of the kind of childhood John Winchester gave his kids but I'm not so sure we're really seeing the same thing as far as John Connor is concerned.

Date: 2008-02-15 01:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] briarwood.livejournal.com
They make an intriguing 'compare and contrast', don't they? I mean, Sarah knows her son has a destiny, and is all about making sure he can fulfil it. It's unclear how much John knew, when Sam was a baby, about his supposed destiny, but he's all about saving his son from it. But the motivation is the same: the alternative is unthinkable.

And in pursuit of their goals, they've both made serious mistakes, and both done things no normal person could do. Their children see Sarah and John both as obsessed, paranoid, even lunatic (I'm thinking more movie!JohnConnor than series).

I agree that SPN treats the consequences of such an upbringing more realistically than SCC has so far...a pity, really, as SCC could go to the emotional places SPN does without being quite so agonising ('tis a sexist thing to say, perhaps, but that's the advantage of a female protagonist).

I'm still watching! I think it's quite enjoyable, and even if it wasn't I might watch just for Thomas Dekker's eyes. *guh* And I love watching slight Cameron take on these huge guys and kick their asses, lol! I don't want Derek to die either! How much did I love John running out to get help in the form of, ahhh, can't remember his name, her ex? ♥ (And did you notice that his current wife is Susan from Numb3rs - or am I so far behind that you've said and I didn't catch it? *g*) The only thing that would make it better is a cameo by Michael Biehn as Kyle. *heart stops beating*

Yeah and I want backstories! I mean, futurestories! It could be so awesome!

I haven't really mentioned anything apart from 'cameron hot! sarah hot! john pretty' so you didn't miss anything and I hadn't talked about n3!Susan :-)

TSCC is pretty fun if you want to play the When Have We Seen Them Before game. I man, without really thinking about it we have actors from Firefly, Heroes, Oz, 90210 Beverly Hills and Numb3rs. And I'm sure the list could go on.
