OMFG! I have so much love for season 4 of SPN that I need a whole new dictionary to express the love! Words fail me!

Let's get something out of the way first ; I do think the reason why Dean was infected was ridiculous - bordering on offensive, too, if you think about it - and also, the only reason why Sam wasn't was because the guy is immune to all kinds of crazy stuff - cf "Croatoan" and definitely not because Dean is a dick and Sam isn't. And, yes, technically, I can see how this episode seems like it came from left field and all...

The real question is, did it lessen my enjoyement of the episode? The answer would be 'no' :-)

I had so much fun, despite Dean's predicament - sorry, Dean-o to have laughed my ass off at a situation that basically sucked for you - that I just can't look at the storyline from any meta'y, serious angle.

So, in no particular order. Meaning in no order whatsoever :

Dean's reaching for Sam not once but twice! Awww!

Dean's voice during his "We? Are insane" tirade - he so didn't sound like Dean. I mean, obviously, he didn't sound like himself but what I mean he didn't sound like himself. Like his voice! All cracking and just un-Dean like!

Sam was awesome in the episode! I mean, he could have mocked Dean mercilessly but even though he rolled his eyes and did get annoyed, he still humoured Dean as much as possible and tried to shield him whenever he could.

Sure, when I read the synopsis, I was hoping for some aggressively protective!Sam and, technically, it wasn't like that but it wasn't that kind of episode, so okay. And he was still being protective, just in a different and more low-key way, I guess. Still, protective!Sam in all its degree is a huge kink of mine. I thought he was very cute.

OHMYGOD! Dean's girly scream and his "that was scary" *dies* I cracked up so much that I missed the rest of the scene so I had to rewind - except I cracked up all over again, missed the rest of the scene and had to rewind a second time. God, that was priceless!

Bobby! HI, BOBBY, HI! Bobby who speaks Japanese now! Because Bobby is awesome as we all know!

Jensen was insanely pretty and insanely adorable in all of Dean's terrified glory. I know it's mean to enjoy him like this but just - omg! *loves* Seriously, JA has the best facial expressions ever. I can't get enough of the guy's acting!

And, and! Sam and Bobby, I don't know, cooing at Dean's attempt to be all Mean Dean Winchester Hunter Extraordinaire Ruthless Killer at the end? Was absolutely fantastic! "Aww" "He's adorable" and Sam's laugh - hee! ♥ ♥

As for the more serious, angsty parts - see, that was how I thought the episode would go all the way when I read the synopsis before watching the trailer and realising they would go a different route, so I was delighted to still get those angsty parts : Lilith's arrival and Dean's reaction to this particular hallucination was great - as was the one with the words appearing in the book he was reading, btw. And how much did I love the whole 'four months in hell is like forty years' thing? A WHOLE LOT!

Then Dean's vision of Sam's turning evil - I particular enjoyed the fact that he was back to his own self there for a moment, 'you get ouf of him you son of a bitch' was pure Dean. And then Sam being all 'I'm not possessed this is just good ole me'. Yes, this would be terrifying, all right.

So I really enjoyed those hallucinations and was happy to get them at all :-)

Speaking of the yellow-eyed thing; I don't know what to think of that little glimpse of it in Sam's eyes at the end. I'd say it was a remnant of Dean's sickness? I don't know. But it was sorta scary, because unexpected at this point in the story.

Speaking of scary, Sam and Bobby's method of getting rid of the ghost was, okay, efficient but I couldn't help but cringe at it. It was so cruel, I thought. I appreciated Sam's 'it was brutal, though'. I mean, that's what he said, right?

As for the little gift we got after the episode, now?

Pure love - yes, I'm saying that a lot today, I DON'T CARE I'M FULL OF LOVE, OKAY? - I was afraid to feel all embarrassed but it was just dorky and fun. Also! I loved that we could hear Jared's laughing off-screen. So.cute!

I think I'll go and re-watch the episode later. Then I'll catch up with Pushing Daisies - I still can't believe my beloved show might get the axe! I mean, Pushing Daisies! It's brilliant and brilliantly done and poetic and different and so hilarious and, really, how could it be cancelled?

Oh and unrelated. I had a friend over last night and we were talking about music - thus allowing me to keep on pimping Panic at the Disco to every human being who's unfortunate enough to ask me what I'm listening to at the moment - and she was all about Cocoon. So that makes, what, the fifth time I heard about it this week? First [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound, then [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi, then [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall and now Rissou? Ok, I cave in, I'll go and ask one of you girls to burn me the songs. See, I can take the hint!

At least you didn't hate it on sight :-) Not that there's anything wrong with that, btw - just in case someone who hated the episode reads this and wants to kick me in the head! - but it's always nicer when you end up enjoying something, right?
