I'm victim of the worst case of 'don't-wanna-work' ever. And it's not even 10.00AM (11.AM now). It's not even my fault, I was in a good mood this morning - it's Friday, I'm always in a good mood on Fridays - except I came to work, opened my mails and it was all problems piling up and urgent matters and none of the persons I need to talk to to fix said problems are available. Today is going to be one of those days, I just know it *sigh*
Also, I went and signed my new contract for the upcoming year yesterday - meaning I'm officially re-employed at the uni til June 2010 - and turns out they apparently screwed up and I might not get my June salary before... well, I have no idea when they'll pay me, the fuckers. That's exactly what happened last year when I was paid a long time after I actually started and it's pissing me off so much that they're apparently about to do the same mistake again.
Anyway, let's take a deep breath. We're trying to solve that problem so it might get fixed soon *fingers crossed*
Changing the subject. I went to see Terminator: Salvation yesterday with Cookie and I loved it. I mean, yes, it's pure action flick but I thought it was good action flick - meaning you just have to ignore all the plot holes. I was ready to enjoy Connor and Kyle, and I did, but the character who totally stole my heart was Marcus. Oh, Marcus! Wow. You sorta eclipsed everyone else. And, ok, slight exaggeration because I did love Connor and Kyle - Anton Yelchin is never not the cutest thing and he was so intense and brave and all, you go Anton! - and Blair but maybe not that slight exaggeration because, you know, Marcus! I finally get why so many people were gushing over his character :-) Cookie's self-appointed mission today - and I might have pushed her a little too - is to go and find the Connor/Marcus community that has to exist somewhere on LJ.
We watched Transformers when we got back so that we're both ready when Transformers 2 comes out next week and, wow, I'd totally forgotten how funny and utterly crackastic the film was!
Ok, now, posting this and hoping work!things will improve by the hour *fingers crossed*

Date: 2009-06-26 08:40 am (UTC)It was the same thing with Watchmen. I was ready to love JDM's performance - which I so did - but I never expected to completely fall in love with Rorschach. He was The One for me :-)

Date: 2009-06-26 01:07 pm (UTC)Oh so it's not just you. Lovelyyyy... Speaking of screw-ups, at work, since we work in a "second language" (French), we get a little extra money for that (about 120$ a month). Screw up from the HR department: they forgot to pay it to one of my coworkers. For 10 years. She's going to receive a really good check this summer! (glad they found out about it)
