Dec. 18th, 2009 03:55 pmDo you know about Cursed Episodes? Those are the episodes you never get to see, no matter how many reruns of the show you catch. Well, Cursed Episodes are but one little part of the whole Cursed Stuff Family - they can take the shape of pretty much everything. So I? Have a Cursed Event, namely Christmas Markets. No Colmar and no real, traditional Christmas Market for me this year either. It was cancelled this morning. So instead of leaving work at noon and being on my merry way to Alsace with my family, I stayed at work and I'm just, working? Except for how I'm taking a break to write this, obviously, but still...
Seeing I'm sorta the talkative kind, everyone at work knew I was really looking forward to it and when I told them I wasn't going this morning, they were like "but it's been ten years!" and "want a hug?". So that was sweet :-)
I'm disappointed, obviously but what can you do, right? I might go to a Parisian Christmas market tomorrow instead. Not the same thing but still lovely...
Hey, so you know how it snowed yesterday?
angeliksmall took some photos when we were in Choisy so I'm sharing. Because a) I think they're great and b) snow.pictures, the end.

Me, starting a little snowdude. Except it was just for the picture so I didn't finish it.

Snowball! Mittens! Barge in the background! Christmas lights!

Awesome contrast, here, right? Cookie takes great pictures ♥

Those were all taken outside of the station. On the left you have the railroad and the trains and on the right, the bank of the Seine.

I really love that pic (and the one above) because it doesn't really look like you're right in the city, near a station. I could totally forget about the train on the left and the weird dudes that are always gathering in that area.

This one was taken from the bridge that crosses the Seine.
Ok, changing the subject. You might have heard of the $10 coupons for an annual paid subscription that are being distributed by LJ. I still have my ten coupons so of if you're a basic/plus user and wish to upgrade, just let me know and I'll send you one.
We're delighted to tell you about our holiday coupons, which will help you share the love with your LiveJournal friends! If you have a Paid or Permanent account, you can send up to 10 LiveJournal Basic/Plus users a $10 coupon for an annual paid subscription now through January 15th, 2010. Recipients can upgrade for $9.95 (instead of $19.95) for one year by enrolling in our automatic payment plan or make a manual payment of $15 (instead of $25). Please note that these coupons are not transferable and cannot be used to renew existing paid accounts.
I'm hoping we'll get to leave early today. Hopefully nothing will fall on our desks at the last minute *fingers crossed*

Date: 2009-12-18 03:29 pm (UTC)But take joy in the fact that you have so much snow! That's pretty impressive, how much there is. Wow!
I'll take a coupon! I haven't had a paid account in years, so $10 sounds like a deal!

Date: 2009-12-23 06:34 pm (UTC)Going to Paris is proving a bitch at the moment, though. The last couple of days, there were zero train going and it's not going to improve by much in the coming week - they're even saying it could take months before everything goes back to 100% normal. Damned driver who was under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
