Of Hugs, Bdays and This and That

No Fatal Shadows in my mailbox today. It's okay though, I started reading A Dangerous Thing last night - or make that the wee hours of the morning, and I really like it so far. Adrien seems to be a very lovable character and Jake sounds really interesting too - I'm impatient to know more about the whole Jake/Adrien relationship for it sounds intriguing *g* I also really enjoy the writing style - all in all, I'm really happy with my latest purchase *g*

I read several reviews for SG:Atlantis this morning and you know, I'm not that excited about this premiere after all. I mean, even the posts that were positive about it didn't sound so... passionate, I don't know how to explain it *shrug* Overall it seems people liked it, but that's it - or maybe I didn't read enough of them, mind.

Though, said reviews did get enthusiastic each time everyone mentioned the J/D bits, and just for that I'd like to see it, as you can imagine *g* But I'm not really keen on the whole thing right now. I'll wait to see it for myself of course, because the only one person who can tell you whether it's good or not is yourself, but in the meantime... well, like I said I'll just wait and see lol

And now for something different. Quite recently, I mentioned in one of my last entries the total lack of Players slash out there, and Selena, aka kennedy_bowman, agreed with me that it was really a sad thing. Well, she found a solution - she actually wrote me an Ice/Charlie snippet! Not kidding! And it's damn good, too!

Thank you girl, I'm really grateful *g* Now, if you want to write more, be my guest! *eg* And I know I said I'll try to do something too - well, I'll try, promise lol It's just that my Muses aren't the most helpful creatures on this planet - or any other, for that matter *glares at Muses* They have a problem with the concept of 'cooperating'. See? Not my fault!

And this has nothing to do with anything, but it's hot and sunny today! Summer decided to do its job correctly! Woohoo! I have cousins spending the weekend -- this month it seems we *always* have one cousin or an other coming over, nice feeling that one *g*-- and apart from visiting my granddad at the hospital, I think we're just going to be lazing around *beaming*

Please tell me they haven't been torn into pieces and they're showing the parts to us: "on your right, you may see Daniel's left eye - on which his visual accuracy was... on your left is Jack's left ball, which hasn't been much use to him since Sam left him for Pete uhuhuh... sorry, a little guide humor... if you'll be so kind as to follow me into the following room, you'll see the pictures of both Jack and Daniel back when they were still in one pieces - young children and hetters might want to skip that part... no, m'am, pictures are not allowed... and no, making puppy eyes will not help... nor will bribing - please follow me..."

And might I add I was conducting an experiment - apparently, no one beside you (and you have no choice since it's your LJ) read this comment - which means that even if I make het references on your LJ no one cares, which means you're really surrounded by hetters... which brings into doubt your fictional orientation: are you sure you're a slasher? Talk to the doctor...

I read several reviews for SG:Atlantis this morning and you know, I'm not that excited about this premiere after all.

I must admit that when I saw the characters I went "Boooooooo". I mean, did you see one really cool, gorgeous, striking guy in there? Or a woman? Nope, they just sort of fade to the background. I really don´t like the characters/actors at all and I can see what it will be about with the woman in there - a feminist all over, convinced that she needs to fight for her place, yadda yadda yadda. I *think* I will give it a chance, but I don´t expect much from it, really :(

I *did* see the premiere of Stargate Atlantis and I was not impressed. It's not always fair to judge a show by its premiere, but, well, yes...you *should* wait and judge for youreself. *nods* There were some nice, snarky Jack moments and Daniel moments and J/D moments and then I kinda tuned out after that and finished reading a book.

To be quite honest, I wasn't really impressed with Atlantis. The J/D stuff is lovely, though (and the only reason I downloaded it to keep).
