Why is it always so difficult to get back to reality? Going back to work this morning was soooo tough, I just didn't wanna get ouf ot bed! I looked at Cookie at one point and just went "look, I'm gonna sleep thirty more minutes, ok? Thxbai!" It didn't help that I slept so badly. But the bright side of everyone being back at work after some nice holidays is that everyone is in the same not-really-connected-to-the-real-world state. As a consequence, today was rather quiet and, oh joy, there was no big crisis to fix. I most definitely approved.
So hey, I don't think I mentioned my NY's resolutions? I don't have many of them because I know I won't keep them. Better not have too many so that I don't feel like such a loser when I, inevitably, break every single one of them, right? Even though one could argue that the whole point of a NY's resolution is to be forgotten after a while. Idk.
Anyway, I think I'll try to stick to two resolutions: the first one being to read more books - 2011 started nicely in that regards because yesterday I stayed home all day long, without setting a foot outside (for the first time since last november, dude!) and I read my first book of the year. So yay me. The second one, the really important one, is to finish my MA. Two years to complete it is acceptable because I'm taking my working full time as an excuse, but if I'm not finished with my thesis either by June or September, that's it, I know I won't ever make it - there will be no third year. So I just have to decide whether I think it's worth it. I believe it is, now I have to make it happen.
Well, I do have more sorta-resolutions like, you know, catching up with my shows, finding as many podfics that I can fit on my ipod, go and see the films I want to see in the theater before they're released on DVDs etc. but let's try to focus on the big ones first, shall we? :-)
No wait, there is a third important resolution, keep with my Italian lessons. That's another big one *nodnod*
