So I was talking about American remakes of foreign shows in my last entry and then [livejournal.com profile] babycakesin shared this New York Times link over at Twitter. Always nice to see people agreeing with you on such an Important Topic as TV, right? ;-)

But because I do love American shows - I mean, if I've been on your flist for more than a month, it should be kinda obvious that I do - I'm gonna take a couple of minutes to wax poetry about White Collar, which came back to us yesterday. Or just squee about the new ep without any real order or method ;-)

I haven't read anyone's reviews yet so I don't know what's the consensus but, as far as I'm concerned, it was a success! I loved it from start to finish ♥

It had everything I love so much about WhiCo, namely awesome banter between Peter and Neal, delightful dialogues from everyone at one point or another, cute scenes, funny lines, fantastic chemistry. And it had, as usual, characters being clever; it reminds me of a review posted over at TNYT (I promise I don't just read the 'television' section) where someone talked about White Collar being a "witty advertisement for the value of knowing, well, everything" - I love how smart the characters are in that show. And how no character is dumbed down so that another can look that much smarter, you know? Here, everyone is smart and it's such a huge turn on. I mean, intellectual... well, you know what I mean ;-)

Oh, and it had everyone looking as gorgeous as ever, too - let's not forget the eye candy factor, shall we?

Argh, Jack(the cat) is trying to molest Neal(the laptop) and I can't type. Shoo, dude! Ok, where was I? Yes. White Collar being its awesome self. With no real order - or more like with maybe order but not a single segue, the many things I loved. Though the list isn't exhaustive:

I loved that shot of Neal facing the window in Mozzie's hospital room at the very beginning. And how Peter managed to reach him; he wasn't forceful at all, he understood that Neal was upset, and it was a scene I enjoyed immensely. It's always a good sign when I really get in a episode and it hasn't even reached the two minutes mark, I'm just sayin'.

I loved how Peter and Neal trusted each other without a thought, and without even needing to go out of their ways to convince the other. First Peter's "You are not listening to me... you are listening to me" and then Neal's "It's nothing illegal but if" / "Alright" / "Just hear me out- ok, I saw what you did here". Hee so cute!!

Speaking of cute, loved the dialogue about the combat training; with Peter so amused at the idea of Neal doing very well with the whole "running away thing" (his little chuckle! &hearts) and Neal's little pouting face. It was totally his pouting face!

Though I have to agree with Neal, the guy should get some kind of combat training. It would be safer for him. And for those around him, should they need some kind of help. Having said that, I quite enjoyed seeing Larsen manhandle and rough him up a bit. I mean, size difference kink and manhandling! What's not to love? ;-)

I love that Jones called Diana on the whole business with Peter. Of course he noticed, and I love that he didn't say anything till now but decided that enough is enough. You go, Jones! Like you said, you are part of the team, too.

And some other random stuff:

Neal playing chess against himself...and Peter's gently mocking him. What does he say exactly, btw? I'm not sure I got it right.

The scene between Neal and Mozzie after he woke up - or even right before Mozzie woke up, with Neal having fallen asleep on the chair. Neal was so relieved, so concerned, so scared for Moz. I always enjoy it when we get to see how much they care for each other. The Ivan Bliminse thing was a nice touch, Neal does know his Mozzie :-) I also liked that Moz 'confessed' having told Peter about Neal and the gun etc. And that Neal admitted he'd been right to do so.

Neal's "He's like Superman without his powers". Ha.

The recruiting was nice! And I love Peter's "I sent my best operative to get him" to Jones' "the little guy isn't coming?" Yes, El is totally his best operative! Her subtle manipulation of Mozzie was perfect :-)

They did make a great crew! It was fun seeing Peter on the "other side" ;-) Loved El's taking charge re: the phone thing, btw. And her "Now it's Burke's seven". Plus, Peter and Neal's looks, just too cute.

I found myself quite enjoying the Sara-Neal scenes.

Cowboy!Peter... pretty entertaining stuff!

The Butch/Sundance exchange. And Sara's "tell Junior I'll send him postcard".

And, finally, that last scene, and more precisely that last line! Hee, it bodes well for the rest of the season, I'd been hoping we'd get to learn more about Neal's past and how he came to become "the man he is today" and lo, it'll happen! Thank you Jeff Eastin!

Anyway, all that to say, welcome back, White Collar, I'm so glad I'll get to enjoy you every week again, I really missed you!

Hahahaha. I love that other people would be all "awwwww look at what the kitty is doing!" and you're all "dude, there's this cat molesting my computer, WHAT IS THE DEAL!" *g*

I can't remember if I'd seen all of While Collar before the break. I should check! *g*

I'm one of the few blessed people on Earth who happens to be immuned to cats and their so-called adorableness. Can you tell? lol But yeah, my laptop, it's precious, dude! What if Jack put his paws all over the keyboard and, like, clicked on my 'save session', thus unselecting it and I lost all my tabs because of him? TOO AWFUL AN IDEA TO CONTEMPLATE, all right?!
