"You and your companion"

Omg I'm so fuuuulll! Cookie and I spent the evening at The Esu's to celebrate Candlemas and I shouldn't have eaten that last crêpe - it's always the last one that is a problem, isn't it? - but I can never resist temptation. Especially when it's filled with Nutella. So even if I might regret it tonight, it was totally worth it! It felt like forever since I'd seen my goddaughter, too - mind, it always feels like 'forever', even if it's just been a week. She's growing up so fast, it's insane. She's speaking better and better, is doing all those "big girl" things and she's just a hoot to be with. Whenever she starts singing one of her favourite cartoon songs, with the choreography to go with it, I just melt.
And I don't know if I mentioned it here, but my sister is pregnant! In July, Chiara will have a little sister or a little brother. Everyone is pretty excited, as you can imagine :-) Even Chiara who's telling everybody about the "Baby inside Mommy's belly" and how "Little sister/Little brother is Chiara's friend". We're hoping she'll be as excited when said baby is born ;-)
Speaking of being excited, I was pretty impatient to see the new White Collar (I promise I rank my future niece/nephew much higher than an episode of White Collar; it was just for the segue!) and it most definitely lived up to my expectations. The Peter-Neal scenes filled me with glee and I got my wish! We found out more about Neal's past. Ha, just last week I was saying how much the flashbacks in "Burke's Seven" made me crave more intel on Neal's past and lo, Jeff Eastin had that in store forme us a week after! He's like Santa Claus, you just have to wish for a present and he delivers :-)
So anyway, this little glimpse into Neal's past and family was fantastic. Not only was his father a cop (I hadn't seen that one coming) but he was a dirty cop. Though the way he said 'I told him he was a cop'... would it imply that was a lie? The 'dirty' part would be true but the cop thing, not so much? Idk. I'm so intrigued! I mean, what does this mean? What happened to Neal exactly? Why did he become a conman? Why did he never finish high school - this, in particular, really makes me curious. Who is his father, exactly? What did he really do? What about his mom? So many questions!
In any case, he does have Daddy issue and they messed with his head and his sense of identity - it's just perfect ♥ I'm also intrigued by Mozzie and Neal's exchange when Mozzie suggested that Peter could be useful if he knew. Useful for what exactly? At first, I actually thought Mozzie talked about Neal's father being useful. But I guess he was talking about Peter? So Peter could be useful (as in 'could help'?) Neal in regards to his father? Or am I just overthinking the whole thing?
I just hope we'll get to hear more about Neal's father in future episodes *fingers crossed*
Then, as I said, there were all those little gem of scenes (ha!) with Peter and Neal. They were in top form, weren't they? ♥ Also, I thought there were many, many slashy bits in that episode, more so than usual. That was lovely too.
Unrelated (and if I'm not mistaken) I loved the detail of Neal's desktop wallpaper being a painting.
Show, never change, ok? Oh, and is there a trailer for next week's episode?

Date: 2011-02-02 11:50 pm (UTC)I loved it. :D So much I've already posted fic. *facepalms* Was much happier with this than the last two, which I liked but this was fantastic.
Also the Burmese ambassador was the super bad guy in S2 of Prison Break which made me gleeful in odd ways. *g*

It was a fantastic episode, wasn't it? I'll watch it again tomorrow with Cookie (who went to bed early, she was knackered) but I don't think I'll mind one bit!
Also, I realised that I had many questions about Neal's father; now I'm really intrigued about the whole thing (cf my edits).
When shows collide; always a lot of fun.

Hehe, I agree. But hopefully the show will answer them in a good time. *g*
It is. And White Collar is doing it almost every week right now!

Hopefully, yeah. I trust Jeff Eastin, though. He wouldn't drop all those hints without having something in mind... would he?
