I had an epiphany today: when picking a gig to go to, I'll try to stick to bands/artists I'm even slightly 'emotionally' invested in because, otherwise, it's way too easy for me to bail at the last minute. Which is what happens with tonight's gig. Cookie and I were all ready to go this morning then work happened and when it was over and we had some time to sit down before we had to leave to meet with the girls at the venue, we just couldn't motivate ourselves to go.

Since we were waiting near a cinema, we decided to go and finally see Thor. By the time the girls were waiting for Patrick to come on stage, we were already home, which was just was the doctor ordered. Just one of those weeks, you know?

I truly enjoyed Thor, much more than I thought I would. It was a lot of fun and I had a great time with all the characters, from Thor to Jane, passing by Sif and the Warriors Three. And Heimdall. I loved Heimdall! And let's not forget Agent Coulson, of course! Or Odin and Loki.

I'm glad I could check Thor off the To See List. One down, two to go. Fast 5 was released today so we'll go and see that asap. And tomorrow we'll try to see The Eagle, because I want me some Master/slave kinkiness ;-)

On a shallow note and about Thor again; it's not that I found Chris Hemsworth unattractive as Thor - I did find him cute - but I'll admit to not being a big fan of men with long hair (with some exceptions, admittedly), so looking at photos/videos of him with short hair was definitely a nice surprise because he truly is gorgeous! Especially in that Thor featurette. He still looks cute but hot too. Which doesn't have anything to do with anything, I know.

Thor était très fun comme film, ça m'a surprise. Et oui, Chris Hemsworth est vraiment très sexy dans cette vidéo. Je l'aime bien dans tous les cas, mais les cheveux courts lui vont mieux.

I was surprised by how much I liked Thor, too! It was ace. *g* I thought Loki's motivations were much more interesting than most antagonists. Plus, I enjoyed having female characters around who weren't just there as a love interest or ridiculous eye-candy. :D

I found Chris Hemsworth TOTALLY ADORABLE in the role of Thor, but you're right, he's surprisingly hot with his hair cut short. >.>

I found Fast 5 and The Eagle both pretty enjoyable too! You should definitely post your thoughts about them if/when you get the chance to go see them.

Loki's storyline was so sad, when he's all "I could have done it, Father, just for you!", it kinda broke my heart. Even if the guy turned psycho on all our asses, of course.

Guess daddy issues can make you do the most awful things.

Now you should read the books too. Then we can squee. I'm picking the Eagle for reel_merlin this time around. I think there's a lot of parallels between the Esca/Marcus and Arthur/Merlin relationship.

Though the mean part of me laughed when Marcus let's Esca go and Marcus says 'take the Eagle' and Esca says no. Part of me wants crack!fic where Esca is 'hooray, free. Leaving you to die now.'

But I am mean. (Also, if you want to see it again - I have links to an HQ version. It's like a whole two months until the DVD is out with alternate ending.)

I do know! I'll have to say I was surprised that the one who pushed my buttons turned out to be the Master and not the slave (not that Esca doesn't make a fantastic slave and I do love him A WHOLE LOT OMG!). Then again, Marcus did play the slave, so that might have had something to do with it. Plus all the reasons I mentioned in my latest entry. I'm just smitten, mate, smitten!

Hehe, I like Esca as the slave (and Marcus riding into the rescue and Esca being all obstinate but reluctantly grateful about it) but I see your point. Esca is the worst slave ever. Marcus is much better because he is all sad eyes and woobie and dependent on Esca because he is linguistically challenged (another major difference with the book. But it heightens his dependence on Esca so whilst a little dumb to not learn the language, I'm ok with it!)

Not that he had much of a choice in playing the slave. Esca looked so smug too.

The look that Esca gave the Roman politicians when Marcus stood up for him and said he was free?? SMUG FACE ESCA IS AWESOME. Not that Esca couldn't have kick arse himself, but sometimes he likes Marcus to exert his power masculinity.

Yes. Books. *ahem* I have serious deep knowledge not entirely based on 'this film hit like everything kink I've ever had and is pretty to boot.' Though I am glad I got over my 'Esca is Billy Elliott and finding him cute is WRONG' phase. I think the fact he's older than me helps.

I am mean. This is fine. It was just his FACE. Because he clearly thought that was happening (I may have watched certain scenes several times. For... research.)

I never got to go twice. Went with valderys and then it was gone before I could go again. I will preorder the DVD when I get paid though. It was the highpoint of that week and is so gleeful I need it in my life. What else are tips for?

Apparently it's similar to the book ending (will let you read the book first). The one where they have home again sex is clearly the epilogue. Or at least the one I wrote in my head. ;p
