1stclass_kink, which I posted as soon as I logged in. Had to do it in the Round Two post because the first one has already reached 3000 comments and is therefore closed. Two rounds. So proud! ♥
Incidentally, I had an epiphany; I posted enough prompts over at the comm that I wrote the equivalent of a nice ficlet. As it happens, when discussing the prompts we wanted to add, I told Cookie about a plot bunny that I'd love to see written. Not that the film made me want to write... but if it had, I'd have known what idea I'd like to run with.
Aww, guys, how fun is that moment when you fall for a new fandom, hook line and sinker! It kinda consumes you - I know, I love being over-dramatic in the middle of the night :-) You want to inhale everything related to it and you just can't get enough. It always settles down a bit after a while but those first days are always fannishly intense ♥
PS: does anyone know if/where we can find icons? First time in my LJ!life I can't find any for a new fandom. What a novelty! [ETA:oldfriends has some, apparently, one should never despair.]
PS2: But I'm not so far gone on XMFC that I forgot to get excited about White Collar returning to us tonight(+1) omg! ♥

Date: 2011-06-09 05:28 pm (UTC)What I liked here is the idea of a Charles whose ideals are a bit skewed due to what he went through growing up with Shaw. I don't want him too different, though, so it'd need a fine balance between this au!Charles and film!Charles.
It'd end with Erik killing Shaw - with Charles' help, I think - and asking Charles to come with him, cause he recognised an equal in him and he "wants him by his side".
Anyway, it was a pretty rough idea but that's the gist of it :-)
Then again, I have this other idea, set during the film, that would explore Charles' mindset when they're all training at the Mansion.
In both scenario, I'd like for us to see how powerful Charles is because, dude, that man could be such a threat if he decided to use his power 'for evil'.

"Charles" Shaw’s tone was slightly chiding but no more than a father with a young child. Erik had learned to loathe that tone, it was such a parody of affection. But he remembered well the feelings it stirred in him; shame, remorse. There was nothing he wouldn’t have done to put things right and make Shaw proud of him again when he used that tone.
Reaching out a hand to caress the telepath’s - Charles’ - hair, Shaw bent his head towards him a little and spoke softly. "We don’t harm our own kind, you know that."
Charles closed his eyes at the almost gentle rebuke and leaned toward the touch. It was sickening to watch; especially as it reminded Erik of a time he wished he could forget. He banged his head against the concrete, frustrated that it was the only thing he could move, livid that he was still unable to reach for his powers, when he was startled when he heard Shaw laugh. He was staring down at Charles, a genuine look of surprise on his face. He cast a quick glance towards Erik, amused.
"No, I never harmed Erik, I only made him stronger. Exactly like I did with you. I was the man who made you both reach your potential. You’re my best achievements." He laughed again. "Frankenstein’s monster? Well. I guess he's right, in a manner of speaking. Except I never denied your existence and I was never ashamed of you, right?" He came to kneel by Erik’s side. He was frowning but Erik knew him well enough to know that Shaw wasn’t upset. Just curious. Shaw adressed Charles without looking at him, "Why are you so curious about our friend, all of a sudden?" Then he looked behind his shoulder at Charles before he turned his attention back at Erik again. He smiled again, a predatory look on his face. "Interesting."
