Awesome news! As of today, we can order Indian food in Choisy-le-Roi! It finally happened! So far I could only eat Indian food from the comfort of home when I was in Paris and I was always so jealous of greedy_dancer whenever she'd order Indian and I wasn't there to eat it with her lol But we're finally part of the club now \o/ So tonight it'll be cheese nan, shiv sankar korma chicken and basmati rice for Cookie and me, plus two lassis, one mango and one banana. YUMMY!

Some other awesome news, Uni Enrolling Process has started \o/ I might end up a student for another year, all hope isn't lost :-p And I'm suposed to have my first seminar next Wednesday. Meaning before I'm officially enrolled. As you do. In any case, exciting!

Completely unrelated but still news, after the Delicious Fiasco, I've caved in and decided that paying 7€ for a bookmarking platform wasn't that big a deal so I created a Pinboard account. I'm here.

Fandom has been extremely reactive yesterday (no surprise here, I guess - but it impressed me, anyway) and it was a lot of fun seeing all those Gdocs being brought to life, gathering people and making sure everyone knew where to go to keep in contact.

Seeing the Big Delicious Migration GDoc being filled live was quite amusing. I also need to go and use the Delicious to Pinboard Mapper to create my network again (or as much as I can atm). Finally, I'm curious to see what has been added to the Fandom Talks to Pinboard Dude and Vice Versa GDoc.

Sure, I'm still annoyed that the new owners screwed up Delicious so royall and can only hope they'll fix things - I love(d) Delicious as much as I love LJ and would visit daily, just like LJ - but it's always awesome seeing Fandom get organised like that.

Did fandom as a whole agree to move to Pinboard? Because I am totally fine with going along. My main issue is just trying to import bookmarks since I stuck delicious into diigo, and then started using them for separate things so mine will be a huge mess. I wonder if that matters.

I'm not sure what fandom has decided; if it had even decided yet. Many people seem taken with Pinboard Dude and have bought an account there the past two days, I've seen at least one comm over there too but I don't know where it'll go as a whole. I know there've been talks to create a fannish bookmarking site, a bit like AO3 was created, but I haven't had the time to read the entries properly yet.

I don't think fandom will move to Diigo, though, since Diigo seems to turn private all tags they deem inappropriate (bye public "spanking" tags and so on).

I'm still hoping Delicious New Owners will get their act together and go back to what it was before - or as much as possible - but in any case, I'll be cross-posting between Delicious and Pinboard.

I'm hoping a new, open-source project takes off. AO3 will never be the proper site for non-fannish bookmarks, and there are a lot of fandom-related things that aren't links to fanworks in themselves that fandom wants to keep safe *and* neatly organised *and* shared.

Of course, I want our bookmarks to improve too, but it will take time, and would rather there was less pressure on us, even if the pressure only came from us wanting to do ALL the things. *g*

Pinboard costs money! I'm used to stuff being free, at least for trial purposes, and only giving money if one really wants to reward the site and get the additional benefits (like getting a paid account with DW, donating to the OTW, etc.)

I feel bad for all the people who got hit hard with the delicious issue, and loved seeing fandom pull together. But personally I'm just waiting to see what the delicious people do, so no moving for me.

I'm not moving so much as getting a secondary home :-) I feel bad for fandom, though, because with Delicious we had the perfect gathering-bookmarking site. It sucks >_
