I opened the door to the past last night with my sister, one of her nephews and one of my best friends. We went to a show based on the Eurodance that (most of) us teenagers danced and sung to in the 90's. A dozen artists and bands were there, singing live for us and it was just fantastic! Like a blast to the past, really. Well, they're obviously all older and it was funny seeing the changes "Larusso's hair is all dark and straight, now, look!"; they all performed live - we were wondering before it started and were pleasantly surprised - and they really looked like they had fun which, ♥ They also did the choreographies from Back Then which, you know, are just ridiculous now but looked real cool back then - you know how it works lol - and again with the "♥" Besides, it actually worked, second degree works well when you're having a load of fun ;-)

So I'm not really sure those names will mean anything to most of you but whatever. Among the artists there we had Yannick, Corona (imo, this could be considered as the hymn of that period), Eurodance ftw! - Larusso, Worlds Apart - the whole crowd went insane when they came insane it was so funny, and sweet too ;-) - Los Del Mar - same crowd danced the Macarena (which is exactly when I came back with our drinks, bad timing, dude!), 2 Unlimited, Benny B, Boris etc. etc.

It was really a great and fun show, I'm thrilled we got to go. Especially with my sister and Sandrine; I can still see us, at Sandrine's or at our place, watching the Dance Machine concerts - where all the bands performed every year for a couple of years - that we'd recorded on video tape. I also remember the Dance Machine audio tapes we would receive at Christmas for a couple of years.

Actually, if you wanted to know the soundtrack of my teenage-hood, I'd point to that CD. Those are the songs that my sister, friends and I listened to when we were in middle school :-)

Still about music but in a different category altogether. A kind soul on LJ shared the soundtrack of The Book of Mormon yesterday and I love it so much!! I only knew of I Believe and Turn it Off but the whole thing is absolutely brilliant - and so politically incorrect, which is always a delight. I wanted to see the show live before and the craving only got worse now. Please please please come to London, musical? Doesn't mean I'll be able to go but I'll be able to, at least, consider going. It'd be better than nothing.

Lol Je m'en doute. Je n'ai jamais été fan mais Sandrine et Aurélia l'étaient à l'époque - autant te dire que du Worlds Apart, je m'en suite mangé - et même moi ça m'a fait tout drôle de les voir ! Auré n'en revenait pas "je rêvait de les voir en concert quand j'étais ado et c'est à presque 30 ans que ça arrive !" Comme quoi, faut savoir être patient quand on est fan ;-)

It's not just me, then? Good to know :-) I bought the CD for my sister a couple of months and never got around to make a copy for myself but I need to do it soon cause I'd love to listen to those songs all over again!
