I'd like to tell you about my day. This morning, I woke up - not without difficulties, I might add; getting up is never the best part of a work day but lately it's become a real challenge - showered, got dressed and got out of the house with Cookie. I woke up too late to have breakfast so I brought one of our Starbucks tumblers to work with me. Then I worked: no crises to avert, no problems to solve, just regular work, which was ok.
Pretty ordinary day, right? Right. Then this happened!

Aka Fassbender's Shame premiere.
Here's the longish story. Cookie had to run some errands for work this morning and, while walkng around in Paris, she found herself in front of a poster for Fassbender's latest film, Shame. Turns out there was a premiere of the the film that evening with Michael Fassbender and Steve McQueen. And said premiere was held, wait for it, at a cinema just twenty minutes away from our workplace. On foot.
This definitely took us by surprise. But we did found out and that's the important part - we didn't miss the event. Turns out the showing was sold-out (though, in the end, they gave away some tickets - I think due to some people who hadn't made it?) but since it was so close to us, we decided to go there anyway and just wait till the cast arrived. So that's what we did. We'd also thought of borrowing one of the cameras we have at work so we did come prepared :-)
We waited for three hours but you know how it is, time flies by when you're among fans. Besides, that kind of little event is always exciting so even if you wish you could sit at times, you don't really mind, it's part of the waiting game :-) Plus, seeing we'd gotten there early we were standing right behind the red ribbon, you know, which separates you from where the VIPs and the cast walk by? Anyway, we were on the front row. Meaning when Michael Fassbender arrived, he was standing right in front of us!
It was a lot of fun. Fassbender is as gorgeous and as sexy IRL as he is on film! Though I thought he'd be taller - but I guess that's because I'm used to thinking of him as Erik and Erik is always standing so close to Charles and I guess James McAvoy is just that tiny ;-) Which delights me to no end *wants to coo at McAvoy*
But, anyway, back to Fassy. He's also utterly charming. Chatting with the fans, signing everyone's booklets, smiling all the time. I was smitten :-) It lasted fifteen-twenty minutes and it was totally worth the wait! \o/
Before leaving, Cookie asked if we could have a pressbook and because One of the Girls in Charge was really sweet, she gave one to us even though "she wasn't supposed to". Actually the whole staff was lovely. At one point we were standing next to the photographers and One of the Girls in Chage (a different one from the pressbook) told us that if we wanted to be sure to have an autograph, we'd better move to the left side. And she was right - it was a much better position. I thought that was nice of her :-)
Anyway, we had a great fannish time!
Short story: we went to the Shame premiere, waited till Michael Fassbender arrived and then just basked in his sexiness and charm. The man is just the cutest, he took the time to sign many autographs, accepted to pose with several fans so that they coud get their pictures with him and was a really good sport; he was adorable.

Can you believe it? We actually went from an ordinary, everyday day to seeing Michael Fassbender in the flesh ♥ ♥ And just because Cookie saw a poster for the premiere in the street #Fate
[ETA: Cookie posted her own entry and she was nicer to the couple of other people that we saw as she mentioned and posted pics of them as well as Fassy.]
