OMFG - they killed Romano! I mean... they killed him! I can't believe it *wide eyes*

I was watching the helicopter fall and I was looking at Romano and it just didn't compute - bloody hell, you can't trust ER - they always kill your favourite characters! Lucy first and now Romano? Cutting off his arm wasn't enough? And talk about irony, man. I'm shocked!

Being spoiler free is like... dangerous sometimes, wow *blink*

Man. That was totally my reaction when I saw that ep unspoiled. I was like WTF?!

Watching things spoiler free is a risk for sure.

ER is one of those rare series where I am totally spoiler free and boy I'm wondering if it's such a good idea because they're breaking my little fangirl's heart! Though on the other hand, it's also exciting in the sense that not knowing made the scene so much more powerful.

It just happened so quickly - and now the audience is the only one to know about his death and everyone in the ER ignores it! Man, that's a streak of genius from the producers but it's damn painful for me!

I remember watching that ep so clearly. I was convinced he'd survive somehow but it wasn't to be.

It seems tv companies do have tricks up their sleeves at times still.

My thought was even crazier - for a moment I thought it was a nightmarish vision... like, Romano was having a mini-breakdown in the parking and was imagining some crazy shit happening. Then I realised my little theory couldn't be true because we actually saw Bad Things happen to everyone inside the building and if it had just been from Romano's mind, the scene would have focused on him only - but it was so crazy!

His yell when he realised what was going to happen was chilling, and the fact that no one even noticed that he'd disappeared is just awful!

Does Carter come back this season? I'm lazy and don't want to look it up at TV Tome - also, isn't Lukas needing some counselling after the horror he went through in Congo? I mean, it's like nothing happened...

Carter does come back and he's the cause of one of the most heart breaking episodes ever :(

So I shouldn't hope for any kind of PTSD thing for Luka? Stupid indeed. Man, what he went through was just so awful and traumatic, how can he just brush it off? Or how can TBPT do it?

Argh, it's so cold around here today that my fingers refuse to work correctly! Need another layer on me! lol

First, Romano (http://www.tvtome.com/tvtome/servlet/PersonDetail/personid-1331) is the Genius doctor --surgeon-- who was a Major Jerk to pretty much everyone in the ER - the one who was condescending, bitchy and just a plain terror. I couldn't help liking him though because we knew he had some good inside even though he was still a fucking bastard. He's also the one who got his arm cut off at the beginning of S9 by ah helicopter's tail rotor, but with the help of a prothesis he's still working in the ER.

Anyway, in today's episode, he's supposed to give back his watch to a patient who forgot it in the ER. The guy is being transported by helicopter so Romano has to go on the hospital roof to give him, ya know? But he's afraid to do so and sends Neela --a new regular-- in his place. He's then being teased about his not wanting to go up there and because he refuses to admit that he is still scared shitless, he decides to joing the girl. Once on the roof, he has a flashback of the time he lost his arm and he can't approach the helicopter - he goes back inside the building, and ends up literally running in panic outside to take a breather.

In the meantime something happens and the helicopter sorta explodes, crashes sur le parking devant l'hospital... and falls down on Romano who was standing there!!!

The helicopter literally crushed him to death - as he realised what was going to happen he started to yell and then it was over - he was dead!!

La chute de l'hélicopter ayant provoqué une explosion dans les Urgences, tout le monde est en panique et il faut qu'ils s'occupent des patients les plus pressés... au final, personne ne se rend compte de ce qui est arrivé et personne ne sait où se trouve Romano. La dernière image de l'épisode est celle de pompiers soulevant les débris de l'appareil, se rendant apparemment compte qu'un être humain était en dessous.

you have to admit that it's one stylish exit... when your number is up, your number is up... the helicopter didn't finish him off the first time, and it came back to finish the job... odd...

I know! I had the same reaction. I kept seeing the previews, so I had an idea it was going to happen, but still, it made me angry. It took me a long time to warm up to Romano and I was finally to the point where I really enjoyed seeing him on screen and they took him away. Waaah

Imagine my reaction since I wasn't spoiled at all. I wasn't expecting that... like it was so far away from my mind that it didn't even register on the radar. Talk about a shock *blink*

And I really liked Romano, even though he made me cringe almost every time he opened his big untactful mouth, so I wasn't a happy camper either *sigh*

i have completely lost track of ER, i have no idea what's going on ... a pity, really.
but helicopter killing Romano, that's ... unexpected. i mean, if it happened in real life you'd think it was surreal, right? lol

I'm still avidly following it each time they air a new season, but it's sometimes difficult to keep track even then! lol

The whole helicopter thing was definitely dramatic, but within the confine of that show? Didn't even seem the slightest un-realistic - ER so rocks! lol
