Had myself a very Hugh Dancy Night tonight last night. It started with the latest episode of Hannibal, which I hadn't seen yet; that episode gave me a lot of food for thought but, between you and me, there's one thing in particular that made me squee like crazy when it happened and it was Hannibal's big hands on Will's face. Hee, touching! ♥ So obviously it wasn't loving and happy touching, it wasn't even caring so much as clinical but still, I liked the visual ;) Yes, sometimes you want to meta the hell out of an episode and sometimes... you just want to squee over big hands on some woobie's face ;)
Then I looked for interviews and was reminded that the guy is, in fact, English and not American - a detail I tend to forget easily. Thing is, I haven't seen Dancy in that many films and apart from King Arthur I don't think I've ever heard him speak with his English accent. Followed some YT videos about the parts he played in English productions (in costumes, too) and there he was, all prim and proper. And always so cute! That's when I found out he'd played in The Big C - a show I only know because
turps33 mentions it now and then - so I went to download all the episodes he played in. Though I went to Wikipedia beforehand and checked about his fate. Once I knew what happened to him or what did not happen to him (if this is considered a spoiler, then I don't know what to do, really), I was ready to go. I'm glad I watched because Lee was absolutely delightful!
Oh, and unrelated though not really, I'm re-reading Red Dragon. As I was saying to someone, the last time I read it I was a teenager and therefore read it in French (I say therefore because I only started reading books in English when I was around seventeen and even then, it wasn't a regular occurrence) so it's like I'm reading the novel for the first time.
Again, no spoilers for either the show or the novel but I hadn't realised how much of the book was in the series! I mean, I'm not talking about the plot but there are so many lines and dialogues taken directly from the book! It is awesome.
