Hello, flist! I was ready to post an entry about my awesome weekend in Normandy with the family and then about my day at work and how I am ever so impatient for the two upcoming bank holiays in November but then! Then this happened: JGL! In the flesh!

This is how it went. After work, Cookie suggested we treated ourselves with a little caramel macchiato, to which I said "hell yes!" because a) we deserved to kick back and relax after a hectic day and b) this is me we're talking about and have you ever saw me say no to Starbucks?
We settled on a Starbucks close-by, namely at Bercy Village where you can find many restaurants, some shops, a park, no cars, and a big cinema. Right. So we're sipping our hot drinks while chatting on a bench in the park and instead of heading straight back home, I suggest we pay a little visit to a shop which I love (except for how pricey it is, I always find awesome shirts and cardigans and coats but can never buy them #SadFace) and on our way out we notice that a crowd has gathered in front of the cinema. Because this usually screams "premiere" we get close and ask what the fuss is about and lo! We're told it is the premiere of Don Jon... and they are expecting Joseph Gordon-Levitt! o_O
So we just stayed where we were standing, at the front row, and waited. For two hours, admittedly, but it was such an opportunity, we couldn't miss it! And obviously it was fate! I mean, we weren't supposed to be around at all. We had to stay and wait for him...
After around two hours (which went surprisingly quickly, despite the two - albeit short - bouts of rain) he arrived! He signed as many autographs as he could, being his sweet and gracious self, and apologised for not having the opportunity to stop and take his time. I guess he was on a pretty tight schedule as he was expected inside the cinema. He did try to do as many signings as he could, though, which I thought was nice of him. The girl next to me had The Tiny Book of Tiny Stories with her and he was so incredibly pleased when he saw it! He actually took a little bit longer to sign it for her and talked a bit to her - all in French, too. Then he thanked everyone and went inside. Cookie and I had hearts in our eyes ;) Talk about perfect timing!
To make a long story short, we found ourselves near the cinema where the premiere of Don Jon (or a second "premiere", I'm not exactly sure) took place and were able to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt with the rest of the crowd. He was absolutely lovely ♥ ♥ I still can't believe our luck ;)
