May. 20th, 2014 10:14 amHello flist/circle, long time no see! I've been in a bit of a funk the past couple of weeks (nothing bad happened, just an accumulation of little things that made me feel tired and a bit blue) but I'm feeling better now so I thought I'd celebrate with an entry :) Among the list of things that are helping improve my mood is the weather, I think, we've had four days of bright sun and warmth (four days! In a row!) and hopefully Spring is (finally) coming, it's long overdue!
In other me news, I've had a lovely weekend: on Saturday I went to Geekopolis, a geek festival held in Paris, with a couple of friends then met with some other friends in the evening for a little picnic on the bank of the Seine before taking advantage of the Night of Museums. On Sunday, Cookie and I went to the cinema to see Godzilla in the morning before spending the afternoon at my parents' with my sisters, BIL and nieces. We lazed in the sun, had fun with the girls, lazed some more, ate cakes. A perfect Sunday afternoon, if you ask me :)
I meant to marathon the last four episode of POI that I've had sitting on my HD over the weekend but failed to do so. I did watch the season finales of Arrow and The Originals, though. Loved both. I'm one episode behind on both Hannibal and Orphan Black. As usual, a fangirl's work is never done ;)
Speaking of tv, the Upfronts came and went and looks like I'll have to try some new shows next year - or whenever they'll air, I think there's at least one of the shows I've seen that should air this summer? Anyway, chances are I'll give a try to the following: Gotham (I'll admit I loved the trailer until the last minute or so when it appeared the writers intend to include the younger version of every! single! villain! we know but apart from that, the trailer worked for me). Same thing with Constantine and The Flash. I'll tune in for the premiere of both. I'm also intrigued by Wayward Pines but I'm always a bit weary of that kind of show and fear the intrigue drags and goes every which way and loses itself after a while. But it could be interesting. Yet another show that intrigues me is Galavant. I wasn't going to check it out then watched the trailer and, I'll admit, I laughed out loud. Reminded me of Monty Python and Princess Bride (which also happens to be how
janedavitt described it) so I'll have to at least watch the premiere :) Oh, there's also The Last Man on Earth, which intrigues me too. I'm just curious about a show with one single protagonist - unless the last man on earth finds other last men on earth to join him at one point but, yeah.
I love the upfronts. Even though few new shows are truly original (I suppose original is too risky these days), it's always exciting to see what the networks have in store for us. More exciting yet, there's always hope the Next Best Show - or Your Next New Addiction, not necessarily the same thing ;) - is hiding somewhere :)

Damn, I wanted to use my "chucks" icon in response to yours, as per usual, and I forgot I need to renew my DW account so it's not active atm, argh!

I was given to understand it's pretty intense stuff, by my flatmate who is ironically up to date. But then, he doesn't have to allow for emotional space to deal with John/Harold feels. ;-)
