Ok, I won't mention how long it's been since I've last updated and you won't either, right? Thanks! I could tell you the story of my life the past month and a half those past few weeks but if I think too closely about writing a long entry, I fear I'll lose the energy, therefore I'll just start this post media res as if I'd just posted yesterday and you all knew what I'd been up to recently ;) This will save us time, believe you me.
I'll talk fannish to you as I've been in a pretty fannish mood the whole week. First because I've caught up on Welcome to Night Vale (I was getting so behind it was starting to get a tad ridiculous) after I heard the wonderful news that they were touring in Europe in the Fall! Not only were they touring in Europe but they were visiting us in Paris! Welcome to Night Vale! In Paris! I never imagined they would come around these parts of the world! (Yes, the news warrant a lot of exclamation points) I was absolutely thrilled ♥ Those of you into Night Vale know that we have no proof that reality is, in fact, real but I do believe in the reality of those tickets ;) So I've been in a Night Vale mood ever since.
I've also participated (am still participating as the challenge ends on Sunday night) in Booktubeathon, a reading marathon born on the BookTube community. I wasn't into BookTube last year when it was held (I'll need to check when I officially got into the YT community, btw, my one year anniversary might be upon me?) but I didn't want to miss it this year! Unfortunately I'm unable to fully participate as I'm not on holidays yet but Monday was bank holiday so I did manage to do some nice reading on that day. The past few days, on the other hand, I could only do it at night, once I was back home.
Still, it's been so much fun! And I feel like I've read more the past few days than I did the past few weeks. So I won't bore you with the details (unless you're curious, then I'll tell you all about it!) but Booktubeathon is held both on YT and on twitter - twitter being the place where most of the interaction is done. There are challenges, mini-challenges, big-challenges, many, many exchanges with the other participants, pictures posted everywhere, and so much reading. It's awesome!
So far I'm halfway through Shift by Hugh Howey (second volume of the Wool series, which is absolutely brilliant! Stressful as hell but it's part of the fun. But check it out, you might get hooked!), I've read Fortunately the Milk by Neil Gaiman and Attachments by Rainbow Rowell. Apart from Shift, those were two quick and fun read - I wanted to speed things up a little ;) I got home a bit late last night but I started Slaughterhouse 5 by Kurt Vonnegut, which I plan on finishing this afternoon, once I get back home. It's a thin book, should go quickly :)
In conclusion: hi ;)

Date: 2014-07-19 07:59 pm (UTC)I keep thinking that I should try Welcome to Night Vale, but the fandom (although not you) is kinda scary.

Date: 2014-07-29 08:34 pm (UTC)WTNV truly is a brilliant podcast; original, quirky, creepy, funny, touching, clever all rolled into one. It has strong, competent, interesting female characters and a m/m relationship that is the sweetest thing ♥
You could maybe try a couple of episodes and see if it's worth giving it a try? Let's both ignore scary fandoms ;)

refreshing every hourdaily. I feel weird when I have to catch up with someone's posts after a mere week.)no subject
