Maman les p'tits bateaux...
Jan. 27th, 2018 09:53 amLast Sunday, Cookie and I went to my parents' in the afternoon for afternoon tea (we meant to have a stroll in Paris before heading to theirs but the weather was so grey and dull that we couldn't muster the energy to move!) and, as we're wont to do, we stayed for dinner and as we were talking about everything under the sun, the conversation led to the topic of tv and series and we mentioned, for the umpteenth time, Lucifer.
I've been talking about the show to them since the beginning because I was 100% certain that they would enjoy it - only "problem" is, they don't download tv shows and my dad isn't fond of subtitles so we could never lend them our own episodes. Netflix France finally decided to get with the program, though, and added the show to their catalogue (first season for now) so we logged on and showed them the pilot. Ha, ten minutes hadn't even gone by before they declared they loved Lucifer lol And by the end of the premiere they were totally on board. Even funnier still, we let them use our account when we left and in the morning, my dad sent me a message telling me work was going to be a tad difficult because they'd actually watched six episodes.
I was so proud of my parents! But maybe a bit more ashamed of ourselves for not being up to date with season 3 so we decided to remedy that and dedicate our free evenings to catch up. Today I'm happy to announce that we've watched eleven episodes! Meaning, we're almost up-to-date, I mean, I think episode 13 is next? Yes, epguides.com tells me we're only one episode behind which, yay! This new season is all kinds of awesome, the show never disappoints (although I think season 2 remains my favourite so far).
We'll try to keep on track and catch up with the rest of ours shows in the upcoming weeks.
Oh, out of curiosity I watched the first two episodes of The Resident. I wanted to give it a try not because medical dramas are my thing (apart from E.R I don't think I ever followed one) but I was interested in seeing a show with both Matt Czuchry and Emily VanCamp. I don't really have anything to say, it didn't blow my mind, I I liked the second episode better than the first but, as of yet, I don't really see it becoming one of "my" shows. Still, I suppose I'll give it a couple of more episodes before I decided of its fate ;)
In other news... everything is ok. Except for the weather. Omg such dreadful weather. First, there is no cold. Today is around 5°C and I think it's the coldest it's been all week. And it's so grey all the time! Where has the sun gone? It's raining a lot (a lot, the Seine is flooding again). It's like eternal Autumn... but not the cozy, pretty part of it. No, the grey and dull part of it. I'm so over it guys. I want my cold! I want my crisp weather! This is unfair *sigh*
It does make us want to remain indoors all the time... thankfully we don't always listen to our lazy sides. This weekend, for instance, we're going away to spend the day with family friends; they live near Normandy so we'll see a bit of the countryside. As for tomorrow Cookie and I want to try a salon de thé which specialty is dorayaki, you know, the Japanese confection made of two pancakes sandwiched together with sweet red bean filling? I read Les délices de Tokyo (Sweet Bean Paste) by Durian Sukegawa last week and it made me crave dorayaki like you wouldn't believe ;) So we'll try to satisfy aforementioned craving by paying a little visit to Tomo. It seems to have some pretty fantastic reviews.
Hope you have a lovely weekend, flist.

Date: 2018-02-01 07:23 pm (UTC)But Lucifer, omg, that show! To my shame I just discovered it relatively recently and burned through season one. Now I've downloaded season two and need to watch asap.
