Une de ces semaines...
Dec. 12th, 2018 03:07 pmThe other night I felt like I was a YouTuber filming her Night Routine: after doing some Yoga in the newly-decorated-office/spare room (with fairy lights to add to the look), I went to make dinner (soup and protein) as well as doing some meal prep for the day after (homemade mashed potatoes, tomates à la provençale and tofu). While everything was heating, I did the dishes and when everything was done, I ate and then went on to read for a little while. After that, Cookie and I watched It's a Wonderful Life. Perfect way to end the day, if you ask me.
The whole weekend had been pretty festive and sweet: the flat was all decked up for Christmas, we went shopping in Saint-Michel (where we found no crowd at all, a bit surreal at this time of year but a direct consequence of the Gilets Jaunes - I think they're called the Yellow Vests in English - protesting on the Champs at the same time). Cookie was on Cloakroom duty in the evening so I went to my parents' to spend some time with my mom and nieces (as she was minding them for the night). On Sunday I went to a Dorothea Lange exhibit near Concorde with a friend, followed with some Korean restaurant. Because the sun was finally coming out and Cookie was feeling poorly and decided to stay home instead of joining me, I decided to go on a little stroll and went on to do some more shopping. I ended up buying two books for er, me. Well, a gift for myself is still a gift, right? ;) We ended the day the same way as the day before, with a Christmas movie, ie. The Holiday.
At this time of the year, I enjoy sweet and chill and cozy moments more than any other times but especially this week: what between the protests, the blockades, the fact that Cookie, my sister and I witnessed a pretty violent car accident on Thursday night (I was the one who called the medics and we stayed at the scene with the severely wounded victim until they arrived, I was called to the police station the day after to give my statement) and then last night the shooting in Strasbourg... It's been a week. I think we're going to have another relaxing, chill and festive weekend to make up for all the unrest in the world.
Keep safe, folks *hugs*
