Joyeux Noël !
Dec. 24th, 2018 12:48 pmThe mood this morning was pretty chill, indeed.

Yes, you might have noticed there are not one but two trees. Funstory: on Saturday, Cookie went to a plant nursery with one of my cousins to get a bonsai (well, one each). She found a pretty gorgeous one and when they went to pay, the guy asked whether they wanted a christmas tree. They were basically handing out some small ones for free. She said yes and voilà! It seems kinda crowded like that but we don't even mind lol Look, we have a little Christmas tree forest in our living room! lol (Technically, it was meant for the spare room but we don't have the room for now so it's staying in the living room. I'm sure enjoying the view, anyway) .
We've been chilling at home all morning. In a couple of hours we'll head to my parents' for today/tonigh's celebrations with the whole family, including my godmother and cousins who arrived from Rome last week (so happy to have them with us ♥). Those of us who are lucky enough to be off work today will make it to my parents' throughout the afternoon, those who aren't will join us as soon as they're free. Tonight we'll be all together (-1), eating good food, playing games, enjoying the festive atmosphere and tracking Santa's journey with the kids to make sure he'll be safe and on time for the presents delivery at midnight ;) It'll be cosy and noisy and lively and full of cheer and laughters and hugs, oh I cannot wait!
We're staying over tonight, as usual, with the addition of my BIL this time. Tomorrow morning it'll be Christmas brunch with everyone and in the afternoon we'll visit my mother-in-law who's in a nursing home/rehab center after having hip surgery last week, surgery that was long overdue and which she was incredibly impatient of getting. The timing obviously sucks as it's right in the middle of Christmas celebrations but she was so impatient for it she didn't even mind. Basically, Santa gave her her main present early this year and she's already enjoying it immensely :) Plus, the home where she's staying at is pretty lovely (surrounded by a park and everything).
Anyway, we'll miss her tonight but we know she's in good hands and we'll get to spend time together tomorrow.
Hope you'll have a wonderful Christmas yourselves if you celebrate (if you don't, a lovely day, obviously), be it a noisy one or a quiet one. I know this time of the year can be rough sometimes, but I hope you'll be surrounded by family or friends, and if you're on your own, that you get to enjoy your quiet time all the same. In any case, I'll be thinking of you *hugs*

Date: 2018-12-27 06:10 pm (UTC)I hope all your celebrations went well, though I'm sure they would have. And what a great gift for your MiL. Being able to walk pain free will be amazing.
