Allô, Père Noël ?
Nov. 15th, 2019 11:59 pmGuys... something thrilling happened today. Snow fell from the sky in Paris this afternoon! I don't really dare say that it actually snowed because it melted before it even touched the ground but it did happen: snow fell from the sky for a tiny little while in November. It doesn't snow in November in Paris, this was highly unusual. I'm hoping it bodes well for when Winter is officially upon us :) I know that other parts of France have had massive snowfalls the past week so maybe the whole country will get some at some point.
At any rate, I'm now wearing my warm Autumn coat and a scarf! No bonnet yet and no gloves either, although my hands get cold (and thus a tad painful) so easily whenever temperatures drop that I've been regretting not having them the past few days. Seeing we'll get close to 0°C next week, I have the feeling they're going to make an appearance fairly soon :)
This is all very exciting! And look at the date! Mid-November! The time of the year when you feel the festive season fast approaching. Actually, we're officially entering the festive season this week as the first Christmas markets are opening (we're planning on going to the one in the Tuileries tomorrow with our nieces, weather permitting) and some of the streets are already decked up for Christmas... not all of them yet, much less in the suburbs but, in Paris, we can already enjoy the lights here and there. This fills me with glee ♥
It's also the season of Christmas films (so many of them on tv! Be still my heart!) and Christmas adverts! I've just watched the John Lewis' one, which was very cute, indeed, but so far my favourite is the one Bouygues made (French mobile phone and internet service provider), which tells the kind of story that always brings a smile on my face (if not tears in my eyes, if I'm very tired and even more sensitive than usual), that is of the love between a father and his daughter. You can watch it here - hopefully, that is. The last time it was - very annoyingly - region-restricted, so I tried to find one that should be accessible. It even has subtitles *fingers crossed that it works* If you have Christmas adverts of your own to rec, be my guest :)
PS: see how I didn't mention Prodigal Son even once? Even though the last episode was brilliant and I've had such a lovely and entertaining time with my fellow fans over at Twitter and AO3 - btw, we now have 242 works in the fandom! I couldn't be prouder ♥ - and how I've had many gleeful fan-moments after having some of my tweets retweeted and liked by members of the cast, namely Keiko Agena and Lou Diamond Phillips with an all-time favourite moment when LDP actually retweeted with comment! Like... he talked to me, you guys! That was so exciting ;) Anyway. I merely wanted to point out the fact that I didn't mention Prodigal Son at all, see?

Date: 2019-11-16 11:59 am (UTC)This whole post is beautiful with the markets and the films and just everything that I love. I also like the John Lewis ad, so much better than the one last year. Oh. That advert you linked to is adorable! What a fantastic end. My heart grow two sizes bigger.
Your restraint in not talking about PS was amazing I must say *g*
