Dec. 10th, 2019 02:24 pmI've been meaning to write an entry about three times the past few days but kept deleting it because it just didn't click. Not that this version is going to be more interesting per se, but I hope it'll keep me interested, at least ;)
We're living in interesting times at the moment what with the massive national strike that began last week and doesn't seem to abate. Among other things, public transports are basically non-existent, especially if you live in the suburbs. Last Sunday we managed to leave home and reach Paris for the first time in four days! It felt a bit like Christmas to me lol We had to be super organised though and make sure we didn't miss the one train that brought us there and brought us back (before the Very Last Train around 7.30PM. Call me Cinderella) But we succeeded! And went to see Last Christmas which I absolutely loved ♥
I mention the transport situation but it turns out I don't have to worry about going to Paris for work because my university closed last week and is, as I type this at any rate, still closed. So far I'm managing as I can work from home but even though my job includes a lot of digital work, it is not a 100% digital environment and if it doesn't open soon things are going to get even more interesting, shall we say.
But anyway, things are as they are... Besides, let's look at the bright side of things; my current work environment is much, much prettier than my actual workplace could ever be, for Christmassy reasons. Case in point ;)
There are other bits and pieces in the living room but those are the main decorations.

Still on the same topic, is anyone else watching Hjem til Jul (Home for Christmas) over at Netflix? I had hearts in my eyes as I watched the trailer because what could be even better than a Christmas movie? A Christmas tv series, you guys! We're not talking about an isolated Christmas episode, this is the whole point of the show. Be still my heart. I'm on to episode 3 out of 6 and enjoying it a lot. It's sweet and funny while being touching. It has all the elements you'd expect in that particular genre but without the extreme cheesiness of the Hallmark films (which, you know I love those so I'm not judging - I happen to have one on the background as I type this, as a matter of fact lol - but they are what they are, right?). It's actually Norwegian so you have this European feel that I love (when compared to American tv, that is). Anyway, I'd recommend :)
PS: last thought for Prodigal Son who went on hiatus last week after one hell of an episode! On the one hand, I don't want the holiday season to rush and end too quickly, on the other... I'm so impatient to see next episode and it won't be before January, 20th. In other words, a lifetime away!

Date: 2019-12-15 07:58 am (UTC)Thank you :) I think my favourite time of the day is early morning, when everything is quiet and still and dark and the only light in the living room comes from the decorations. So peaceful!
I'll take a look at the Christmas TV series!
I still haven't had the time to finish it, oops!

Date: 2019-12-13 05:26 pm (UTC)And wasn't Last Christmas great?
I', going to look up Hjem til Jul, it sounds good. I'm alternating between watching Christmas baking shows and Merry Happy Whatever on Netflix. I like the second a lot more if it didn't have the backing laugh track.

Date: 2019-12-15 08:03 am (UTC)Last Christmas was great! It made me cry, of course, but it was beautiful.
You'll tell me what you thought if you do watch Hjem til Jul? I haven't finished it yet, need to do that whenever I have the time. And I like the sound of your Christmas "tv" program, btw ;)
