I wasn't planning on doing another A Day With Me - Confinement edition so soon after the last one but I had an absolutely lovely weekend and I'm documenting it here for rainy days, so to speak ;)
Both days were both chill and packed with activities, among which some a tea party on Zoom with the FP on Saturday (Me with my tea - because of Lent - and the girls with the cakes they'd baked beforehand) and around the same amount of time with my parents and sister on Sunday, first for the apéro to drink a toast to my mother for her birthday then for the birthday cake ;) It felt so good! We'll definitely do that again. But I'll stop before I start rambling, I'll leave it for the cut and make it quick here ;)
Tv-wise. Cookie and I watched the season finale of ST: Picard and what an episode it was! The ending, especially, was stellar (ha!). I enjoyed the whole season so much, I'm delighted with that new addition to the franchise ♥ I (finally) watched the premiere of Locke and Key and it did pique my interest (I knew of the comics but never read it so this is my first foray into the Locke universe) and I also watched the Freud premiere, one of Netflix latest additions. It looks like it's going to be a bit crazy, a bit over-the-top and a bit ridiculous but in the most entertaining way. I've only watched one episode, though, so we'll see how it goes ;)
Ok, now let's talk in pictures.
Let's start with Saturday.

(1) Cookie was finally feeling much better Saturday morning, so we had our breakfast together and started to prep for the groceries which, at the moment, takes a lot of organisation and precision ;) (2) Making sure we had the main spices for Saturday's meal as well as Sunday's baking. Yes, we had plenty. Victory! (3) After Cookie left to do the groceries, I sat down to read the day's sermon "On Being a Good Neighbour" which title made me smile right away because, wow, such a relevant topic these days! Much more than usual, I mean (4) First step in the preparations for today's meal while listening to a podcast (5) then cooking while chatting away with Cookie (6) Lunch is ready! The recipe came from the live cooking show I keep talking about, namely Cuisinons ensemble. What I love with those recipes is that they take into account the current situation meaning that the ingredients are quite simple and should be relatively easy to find (7) After lunch - which was delicious, if I may say so myself lol - we sat down, watched and tremendously enjoyed the Picard season finale. (8) I had little time to work on my German assignments during the past week so I finally sat down and started working on it which brought me (9) to my tea party with the FP ;) We had a blast and it felt really good being able to talk and see the girls ♥ (10) In the evening I put on my running shoes and went for a quick little run outside, which helped even more. (11) In the evening, we made a quick visit the INA YT channel as they opened their catalog and we watched an oldie but goodie French play. We then went on our separate ways as we were still sleeping in different beds and I watched the premiere of Locke and Key.
My Sunday, now.

(1) Woke up feeling pretty rested, sore throat still present but not bothersome so I was in a pretty good mood :) I started the day with some peanut butter & banana toast. My Sunday was off to a good start ;) (2) Had fun in the kitchen again. (3) Yesterday was my mother's birthday and we'd decided to toast in her honour online so we made sure everything was ready ;) (4) I had some time reading a little before lunch was ready (5) then it was time to toast. Happy Birthday, Mom ♥ We chatted a while then logged off to let my parents eat "in peace" and planned to meet again when it would be time for my mom to blow the candles (6) In the meantime, I started with my baking: kanelbulle this time - or, you know, cinnamon rolls ;) (7) Happily kneading my pretty, pretty dough! (I hope this doesn't mean anything in English slang! lol) (8) While I let it rest I changed the bedding in the bedroom and look! We have an indoor bike! My dad brought it to us on Saturday morning (yes, we stayed away from each other, yes we cleaned the bike, just in case) (9) Rolling the cinnamon rolls, ready to bake in the oven, woohoo! They were looking good and I was starting to get a bit more confident about the whole endeavour ;) (10) Kanelbulle reaaaaady! They smelt so good! And tasted even better, we were very happy with how they turned out! I know, btw, there was no icing but we couldn't find powdered sugar or plain cream cheese in our supermarket so it'll be for another time. Actually, we couldn't find flour either and we were lucky enough to have exactly the needed amount of flour required for the recipe. Like, I actually finished the bag (meaning we need to hunt for flour this week and hope for the best!) (11) We then headed to a little coffee shop that had just opened near our sofa. It was super cozy and the food was pretty good, just like the decor, we'll definitely come back ;) (12) And to make up for all the sugar ingested that day, I did some biking while watching the first episode of Freud, a Netflix original.
In other words and to make a Way Too Long Story short: I had a very happy-making weekend ♥ Hope you had a lovely weekend as well, flist. And that your own confinement, be it self-imposed or enforced by TPTB, is going well.

Date: 2020-03-31 01:08 am (UTC)Your baking looks lovely. I must admit, we don't do a lot of baking in my house, but something may pop up soon as I am having a birthday in lockdown. I'll await such surprises as are possible in the New World Order.

Date: 2020-04-05 01:08 pm (UTC)We do enjoy baking occasionally but, just like everybody else at the moment, we've really taken to it. Also, since we do make an effort to have healthy meals during the week, Sunday is definitely our moment to just indulge.

Lol They sure are ;)
