That was a bit of French slang for you (although, please, don't tell people I taught you the word "chiant"). Something happened that, in the grand scheme of things (especially considering the current situation), is not important at all but that I find super annoying nonetheless (especially considering the current situation), namely my Whatsapp account got hacked last night and I had to deactivate it. Cue TPTB sending me a code so that I could confirm that I am back and all which, fair enough. Alas, they sent it around 5.00AM this morning and, obviously, I was asleep so couldn't use it, which means that when I woke up they considered something foul was at play because I hadn't "guessed in a timely fashion" and now I have to wait 12 more hours to be able to maybe get a new code again - if everything goes according to plan. Who knows with hacking?
So, nothing important or serious but annoying for obvious reasons; I mean, I do still call people but now is not the time when I want to go back to old skool communication via texts. Besides it's not the same thing. I do use Whatsapp to talk to single individuals (which can be replaced by texts, although not 100% similar due to some features specific to Whatsapp) but even more importantly I have many, many Whatsapp groups that are already quite active on a good day but even more so now, for obvious reasons and I already miss the lot of them.
I'm always so over-cautious... but you just need one time, right?
Not all is annoying today, though. It's sunny and warm (not that I could really enjoy it but at least it's bright in the flat), I found out that Prodigal Son 1x19 will air on April, 20th (I thought they only had episodes 21 and 22 ready as they hadn't shot in order and then had to stop production) so that made my day because a) did I mention how much I enjoy that show and I'm so glad we'll get the last remaining episodes as planned and b) I know I sound like a broken record but each new episode is better than the last and the last two episodes I watched (I'm still an episode behind so, just in case, no spoiler for 1x18, please) were even better yet so I'm so excited about the end of the season!!
Last but not least, I'm actually on holidays tonight! We were supposed to be off work the whole week originally but this mandatory vacation has been "cancelled" and we were given a choice. Since work is still busy for us, my co-workers and I decided to split the week between us and still take two days off. I think it's a good compromise, I would have hated "losing" five whole days. I mean, it's not as if I always get away from Paris at this time of the year but not being to get out of your flat is a whole another story so that way we do save three days for better days and still get two days off to just chill a bit. It's a win-win situation, really (also a privileges of being a civil servant as many people don't have a choice in the matter. Partial unemployment is a way to avoid losing your job altogether, another is to have vacation days "forced on you". It doesn't mean you are given more vacation days but that you have to take them now instead of later (which might be problematic for many parents, among other things). Although I know France is pretty lucky when it comes to days off so I won't ramble too much about it ;)
Anyway! All that to say. Today is another pretty good day (I just wish I could share my good mood with my Whatsapp groups lol)

Date: 2020-04-08 03:27 pm (UTC)That's a good way to deal with your holidays. Because yeah, you are losing the holidays really. James felt the same last week when he had the week off and nowhere to go.
Are you affected by the new lockdown times in Paris? It looks like things are getting extra tight in terms of lockdown over there.
I'm only one ep behind in PS too. So I'm glad to hear the schedule is still good.

Date: 2020-04-10 08:01 am (UTC)I feel for James. I'm really not complaining as I got a good deal, much better than many others. And I am glad for the little break (not to little either since we have Easter Monday off so that means I'll "go back" to work only on Tuesday)
I am, yes, because the restrictions are for Paris and three (or is that five? I'll have to check) départements in the suburb, including mine. That's exactly what we were talking about earlier, people use all the loopholes they can to get out, of course something gotta give.
PS is getting even more exciting, isn't it? Aww, beloved show ♥
