Confinement Jour 25 : vacances Jour 2 \o/
Apr. 10th, 2020 04:18 pmI got my Whatsapp account back yesterday Wednesday! Not gonna lie, that made my evening ;) Well, it made part of my evening, the other was made by Vaiana... Ah. Just found out that it actually was Moana in other countries, so we watched Moana for the first time - did I mention we're trying out Disney+? - and what a gorgeous film that was! I don't think there's a single thing I didn't enjoy. I cried, I laughed, I cheered... Cookie and I had a blast.
We're actually revis(it)ing Disney classics this week, all the while doing some chores. Do I dare tell you what it is? It has to be the most boring task a human being could undertake (and, I'm sure, only "interesting" on week 4 of a lockdown). Oh ok, I'll tell you. We've had a Massive Pile of Paperwork (I'm using capitals to really convey the idea behind this pile. What I mean is there was a Shitload of it) hidden in a closet that we'd been meaning to sort out and throw out for the longest time. Well, we've finally decided now was the right time to do that!
So just like I (indoor)bike in front of The Good Place twice a day and enjoy two activities for the price of one, we've taken to sit down on the sofa, put on a Disney classic (our last pick was - wow, Merlin l'Enchanteur is actually called The Sword in the Stone in English? The things I learn today!) and basically spend the duration of the film tearing paper after paper apart and putting them away for recycling.
The thing a national lockdown will make you do!
Speaking of. People kept joking that, ever since aforementioned lockdown started and the rules for going out were announced, the whole country had become the Land of the Joggers but it isn't quite as funny now. Because many of those joggers used the "Exercise" exception as an opportunity to go out every day and/or spend hours outside, TPTB decided that enough was enough and as of Wednesday, April, 8th the rules got a bit tighter for Paris and (at least?) three départements (including mine because... of course). As a result, people can't go out to do physical exercises between 10.00 AM and 7.00 PM from now on. I have no idea whether it's going to be extended to other locations but there you go. Use us as a cautionary tale if you want, guys, we deserve it.
I much prefer the joke about how the whole country has become bakers since the confinement started. It does have the tendency to make finding wheat flour similar to finding the Holy Grail but at least it's an activity that has no other consequences and is as sweet now as it was before. Case in point, I'm planning on baking my invisible apple cake on Sunday. If you've never had it, btw, I'd recommend it: it's a very easy, quick and tasty recipe. It's one of my "signature" cake ;)

Date: 2020-04-13 02:43 pm (UTC)I haven't seen Moana, I should look for it at some point. Maybe when we try our free week of Disney+.
The joke here is everyone has got themselves a dog in order to have a daily walk and those dogs are hiding because they're being walked by so many people so often. You're right, anything to push the rules.
I have to admit, I baked banana bread for the first time in forever a few days ago. I mean, I had the time, the igredients, why not?

Hmm banana bread! I haven't baked that one in a while, I might copy you ;) Even though it wasn't Sunday and we try to stick to a one-cake-a-week rule, I made cookies. Cookie (ha) had a craving and it's such a quick recipe! I chose to make only a couple so I think that was ok? ;)
