... you receive a mail from your best friend asking you if everything is okay because you didn't update the day before - or maybe it just tells you you have great friends, but I was already aware of that *g* That was really sweet, thanks Babycakes *kisses* Having friends concerned about you is really a wonderful feeling - and it was even sweeter because don't worry, everything was okay, I just had a busy day and I was pretty tired so I went to sleep at 1.00 am and didn't switch Clark on *kisses again*

So my day :

I met [livejournal.com profile] alinewrites and her adorable daughter at 1.00 pm to go to the Père-Lachaise cemetery. We tried to find some interesting tombs, including Jim Morrison's one, but huh... we didn't find 'em. I told Aline I'd lie and explain how we found everyone of them, but okay I'll be honest, we really just saw Simone Signoret and Yves Montant's tomb, and I'm sure only because we weren't looking for it lol

The thing is, when you're with another slasher, you sorta tend to you know, talk about slash non stop, and since we share some fandoms and kinks and whatnot, we were more focused on our conversation that on our tomb hunt.

Still, the visit was really interesting because le cimetière du Père-Lachaise is fascinating and beautiful. I know, it sounds odd since we're talking about a cemetery, but it's not any cemetery and the tombs in this one are... well, work of art. They're also sometimes funny like this fucking *huge*... tower, column - I don't know how we could describe it that we found at one point. My my, someone had one hell of a complex in his life to have this oh so long and big imposing vault built for him after his death *eg*

Then we went to McDo's --I can't even say it was only Chloe's fault to be honest lol-- and I was invited so that was nice too - thanks again Aline, everything always tastes sweeter when someone invites you *g*

To make a long story short, I had a delightful afternoon, thanks Aline and thanks Chloe too *g* I wish I had stayed longer but I had to go to the hospital so I had to leave.

Before I forget, I read a great TS fic the other day and thought I would share because I'm nice like that - don't laught, dammit! Secrets had a sort of quiet intensity which I thought was really interesting. I loved how the author wrote her Jim and Blair. Also the very end? Real nice *nodnod*

I deleted all my yahoogroups mails yesterday without even peeking at them and I think I missed something again because when I checked my inbox this morning, I found a Listmom Announcement that sounded quite odd, so was there another war going on yesterday? Not that it's anything new mind you, but when mods write such long and heartfelt messages, I can't help wondering what brought it up in the first place because it seems like it was more the average kerfuffle.

Speaking of which - in one of the comm I joined, someone posted an entry that could have been controversial for a certain part of the fandom. All in all, the last time I checked, everyone actually kept their cool and as it happens, people who share her views commented (me included because you have to support your buddies sometimes lol) and others who didn't refrain from yelling and screaming bloody murder, which was nice, as you can imagine. There was still this person who disagreed with the post, feeling all offended someone could actually dislike her oh so beautiful and wonderful pairing, which she was entitled to anyway, as long as she kept civil, right? What got me though is that when someone else --not the original poster-- replied to her comment, said person got all aggressive demanding to know why New Commenter dared to reply to her comment - and I was like huh maybe because you're commenting in a public post where everyone can read and yes reply to any comment posted?

So anyway it got me thinking about the netiquette and everything - unless I'm being verbally attacked, which never happened so far, I can't imagine why I'd found rude for someone to enter a 'conversation' I'm having with anyone on any thread. This is supposed to be the whole point of LJ, this spontaneous exchange with people.

And you know, I don't have a lot of LJ 'expectations' - I never considered friending and unfriending like an important matter, I friend and unfriend at will and expect everybody else to do the same with me, I'm never upset when people don't comment on my entries and I comment in others' LJs even when they never comment on mine, because... well, why the hell not, right? As long as I want to do it, I just do. That being said, there's something I usually expect when I comment on someone else's entry, I'll admit, and it's to receive a reply. And when I say 'expect', I use the term loosely because I'm not 'demanding' anything, obviously, it's just something that I like.

Also, I'm not talking about a comment you send to show someone support or a reply to the umpteenth comment posted when you both started a comments marathon, but the very first one? Yes, I do. I do understand that you can't always reply to a comment don't worry though *g* I'm not going to unfriend you if it happened thank you very much, and I sometimes forget to reply to a comment myself, after all. I know people sometimes don't have the time nor the inclination to reply so it's okay, it's not a problem as such. I'm just sayin' this is one of the very rare expectations I have - I'm easy-going, I don't care one way or the other, but hey, can't blame a girl for having some preferences *g*

And since I'm on the subject, something that sorta freaks me out? When I'm the *only* one in a thread that didn't receive a comment from the original poster - and I don't even mean when there were like 2 comments posted overall, no I'm talking about more than 15 for instance, I swear that is freaky lol

And now... [livejournal.com profile] oceana_ and [livejournal.com profile] lerefuge? I received the parcels!!! Thank you so much, girls *g* I can't wait to watch 'em!!!!

Hard Core Logo, New Order and the Lowdown are now in my possession *evil laugh*

Yay, they arrived! Wow, that took a long time. *glares at German post*

That being said, there's something I usually expect when I comment is to receive a reply. I'm not talking about a reply to the umpteenth comment posted when you both started a comments marathon, but the very first one? Yes, I do.

You know, that is actually something happens a lot to people who comment in my lj. I try to reply to each comment, but more often than not, I don't find the time. I am just in the process of going through about 90 comment notifications, deleting most of them, because the discussion is too old to continue.
One of my biggest problems are the different time zones. I often post late at night, and then I have to go to bed before I have time to anwer comments. People comment during the night, and I am busy the next day, and the notifications are getting more and more, until they freak me out so much that I can't even look at my inbox anymore.
There are some comments I always reply to, not special people, but the things they said. But sometimes, I just can't, and I am still feeling a bit bad about that. I posted about this before, and someone said: Don't worry. LJ is about fun, and if it becomes a duty, you are doing something wrong.
And I realized that this is so true. Still, I try to anwer most of the comments I get, and if I don't do it, it isn't meant to offend anyone, or to say that I don't appreciate the comment or find it interesting. It's just that I don't have the time.

On the other hand, I don't expect to get replies everytime I post somewhere. Sure, sometimes, when I post longer comments, I expect a reply, but I'm not offended if I don't get it.
So, if you are chosing to make a point in not answering this, I totally understand. *G*
and I will never speak to you again*sticks tongue out at you*

Well I never really felt that you never replied to comments, so I think you must be doing something right *g*

Someone said 'Don't worry. LJ is about fun, and if it becomes a duty, you are doing something wrong'

Wouldn't that someone be me? lol No seriously I'm one of those who think LJ is about fun not duty, which is why I never make a fuss about it - besides I consider this as 'my problem', as in it just concerns me, know what I mean? We all have reasons to answer a comment or not, and that's fine with me.

That being said, I could stop commenting in certain people's LJ if they never commented back though. I remember those users who never ever did, it was apparently the way they decided to deal with LJ - receive comments, but never reply to them. It's their choice obviously, but I chose to stop playing with them. The thing is, I don't see the point of keep on commenting because I like the interaction with the poster, and when you're the only one to play, it's not exactly an 'interaction', right? lol It doesn't happen a lot, mind you *g*

It's not time to make a point yet btw, so I decided to reply to you *eg* As if I could not reply to one of your comments anyway lol

I agree, it's all about the interaction. And I know what sort of people you mean, especially certain BNF who never ever reply to the stupid little things their minions have to say, not even with a quick "thank you" if you leave feedback. Not in Stargate fandom though, at least not that I'd have noticed.
Sometimes I comment just to show that I found a post funny, or to offer my support, and then I don't expect an answer. But if it is about discussing something, then I want the interaction. What's the point of posting something and then not replying? And LJ would be nothing without the interaction.
See, I'm replying again! I am living proof of what I just said! *g*

Nope, so far I never saw that behaviour in SG, true enough.

I agree with showing your support to someone and not expecting any replies - those comments are for the person only, not you so I'm with you on that one. I was more talking about the 'regular' comments *nod*

I see that lol

I'm lousy at replying to peoples comments. :(

*hope you forgive me* ;))

I didn't even think of you at all, so don't worry *g*

And like I said, it's not a problem as such, just something I noticed I liked seeing done. But you do reply to the comments I send anyway, so no worries *g*

That hospital sounds so much better. I'm glad he's been moved because that last one sounded terrible, especially having to practically beg for stuff. That's just wrong.

So, are you saying you like your comments to be replied to? ;)

This new hospital is a treasure! We don't want to go back to the other, we don't! We'll see how it works next week, of course - for now, we're taking advantage of the beauty and efficiency of a Real Hospital.

Basically yes lol

I always try to respond to everything someone says on my lj, but sometimes it's just difficult.

I especially hate it when you're like carrying on a huge discussion with someone and then it's like you've both said everything you wanted to say and it's like the conversation just dies. I always end with a :) when that happens.

:)

You don't always have the time to reply to any comment you receive, granted. Sometimes it takes a few days and by then, you sorta lost the feel of the conversation anyway lol Like I said, it's not a problem as such, besides, it doesn't happen often either. Rarely even. Well, it almost never happens with my flist to be exact *g*

And I see what you mean lol

Wee! I am happy you got them but damn, it took a longtime! Last time it was much faster. Darnit. I can send you the Atlantis premiere and second episode, as well as the next Stargate episode this weekend if you want. (Gotta keep a fast pace, or I will start procrastinating :D)

Waiting is part of the pleasure, never mind *g*

And you're KIDDING, right? Oh man, that would be so wonderful... thanks again!

And isn't there anything you'd like in return? It's taking time because Danny (my CD burner) is sorta dead so I have to go to my sister's house to burn CDs, but it is doable...

LOL - yeah, sorry... I just wanted to make sure there was no real reason for your silence - I'm glad to see your grandfather is having nurses, of all things! How strange... so... any kinky nurse?

I liked it very much, as a matter of fact, so thank you again *schnuzzles*

No kinky nurse but for once, I couldn't even feel bad about it, because NURSES lol

oh. Too bad. (on the kinky nurse I mean, not on liking my mail)... any chance there's dying AIDS patient and his lover is by his side and telling you his story and you'll slash it? No? Damn, why *do* you spend so much time in hospitals if slash isn't involved!
