I came home not so long ago, and I immediately switched the TV on. SG was still on, although it was almost the end of the episode- it was 'Enigma' btw, and hear this, Daniel said 'tu' to Sam! There was a 'tutoiement' in SG today!

I'm not kidding, he said 'J'ai besoin to *toi*' to Sam. Weird. But so nice. Of course I would have loved it even more if he was talking to Jack, but whatever.

Are they going to use a new version of SG? Yeah, right! I guess I'll have to cherish this moment *sigh* At least, I have my beloved 'tu' instead of 'vous' on the DVDs, it's something, at least.

Now, on another subject, today, I did something *really* really unreasonable, and I *really* really didn't care *eg* Also, I'm definitely happy with the result.

Want to know what I did?

I actually caved in and bought the "Yami no Matsuei" DVDs! *gasp*

It wasn't really a smart move, but sometimes, I think the best way to feel better is to give yourself a little break. And to do so, I spent money I don't really have and I bought myself something I've been 'dreaming' of for a long time.

I watched the first episodes, and I so don't regret buying it!! It's just brilliant! I love it *g* I said once that 'Yami no Matsuei' would be mine one of these days, well, it was today! *bouncing*

Now, I don't really know who is my favorite character. I don't think I can choose between Tsuzuki and Hisoka. They're both wonderful and fascinating and- well, they're just *awesome* characters.

Also, as far as the villains are concerned, I really have to vote for Muraki! The man is creepy and powerful, and he's so obsessed with Tzusuki that you can't help but love him. Also, what he did to Hisoka is a big part of the attraction, I must say *eg*

This a purchase I'm going to cherish, believe me! I'm off to watch some more episodes, now *g*

FUCK FUCK FUCK, I FUCKING MISSED THAT!
when sg was still showing, you were not in my friends list. but i used to make entries at least thrice a week to rant about the vouvoiement. i'd have been so happy to hear it...aaaah!

Really? A kindred spirit, yes! *high fives x5* This is something I could vent and rant about for *hours*, I actually do sometimes, poor [livejournal.com profile] babycakes heard me whining about it time and time enough! lol

I just can't understand why the hell they didn't use the tutoiement in that show, this is beyond me! Here a group of guys who actually save the planet together on a regular basis, who *die* for the others, who're spending quite a long time together on a regular basis in *very* dangerous and therefore *very* intense situation, people who got to become really close through the years, and they're still saying 'vous' to each other? Come on!

Once again, I'm not talking about the military, but please, use the fucking 'tu' when you're dealing with Daniel and the others! I want to hear Teal'c, Sam and Jack saying 'tu' to Danny, and I want him to say 'tu' to them, is that so difficult to understand?

That's also one of the *many* reasons why I like the DVDs so much, when you use the subtitles, they're saying 'tu', and believe me, it makes the relationship between them so much better! The whole show suddenly becomes more intense, because you feel the friendship between the characters, you know? I mean, it's incredible how such a simple change may change the whole view of the guys!

It's a pity you missed it, cos it was so cool! Now, we need to see if it happens again! *g*

i complain to my MUM! poor her. i complained about her this morning too when i read your entry and learned that i missed it. she thinks i'm insane but at least she listens!

i even posted a rant about this on [livejournal.com profile] stargate_talker. i know that in the german version (not DVD), jack and daniel use 'tu' in abyss. teal'c 'tutoies' everyone.

I KNOW! it is so frigging RIDICULOUS! it does not make sense! i do understand why sam and jack have to use vous with one another being military and all that, but the rest? what the hell? they're collegues, they're friends, they're more than that even.
i mean, i'm working at my high school. i spent 7 years there and used to 'vouvoie' the secretaries. i did not even work there for a week that i swicthed to 'tu'. now you tell me after all they've been through together, they'll use VOUS? it's the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard. they're so close...and yeah, you vouvoies someone you'd die for. yeah riiiight.

I want to hear Teal'c, Sam and Jack saying 'tu' to Danny, and I want him to say 'tu' to them, is that so difficult to understand?
yes! why didn't i know you when i was complaining about that? if i have time, i'll look for the entry on stargate_talker for you. a lot of people answered i think.

yes, it would be like the english version. it's so different from the french one and i admit, it's mostly because of the 'vous'. (also, jack's snark and daniel's sarcasm don't translate well into french). i'd love to watch the DVD version. but i don't even have a DVD player. if i'm well informed, DVDs contain the series in different anguages, right? i'd kill to watch them say 'tu'!! (read: when i go to australia and maybe buy a dvd player after paying for the laptop that i will also buy, i might just have enough money to buy dvds. maybe.)

please let me know if they go on using 'tu', then i WILL beg my cousin to tape at least one episode for me.

I see we're 100% on the same page as far as the vouvoiement vs tutoiement is concerned. Oh and yes, if you have the time, I would like to see the entry you posted on stargate_talker, and the comments with it, I'm curious *g*

About the DVDs now- a DVD comes with different language, audio and subtitle. The French version of the SG DVDs for instance are in French and Enlighs --duh-- but also in Italian, and have way more subtitles. And in those subtitles, they all use 'tu', no matter what. Nice, uh? *g*

Okay then, thanks.

I was thinking of you just now. I'm watching "Tin Man", and unfortunately, it's official, the 'tu' thing was definitely a one-time thing or even more likely, a slip, so no, they're not using it anymore. Then again, we knew that right? It was still nice to hope though *sigh*
