Is it possible to have found a gen pairing? Cause I just watched Numb3rs 1x03 - thanks again sori1773 *g* - and Don-Charlie is just too cute for words. They have wonderful chemistry between them and they care so much for each other - it's a pleasure seeing them together. So I think I just found the very first gen pairing of my life. Like, the first thing I thought regarding those characters wasn't slash but gen. How incredible is that? Btw? Still enamoured with this series, like, whoa *beams*

So. The Fandom Goes Boom episode last night? Wasn't that deadly after all, was it? I mean, it didn't create that much more reaction than usual, it seems. One of those times when the drama over an episode is ten times crazier than the actual episode - no big surprise here, mind. They say anticipation is half the pleasure, in some fandoms, the anticipation is half the madness - and when I say half, well, you know *eg* But I was still curious to see the state of my flist after said episode, and in the end? Nothing unusual. Could almost be disappointing. Almost being the keyword, of course *g* Will have to wait to see it myself now, there're some scenes that call to my attention lol

[Edit: Thanks to hearsawho I now have some info about things that happened between the spoilers and the actual episode, so the not-going-kaboom thing has an explanation after all *g*]

But if the episode you're talking about is Stargate (judging by the words 'fandom' and 'boom' in the same phrase), could I beg you, and grovel, and promise kinky icons and wallpapers (that I'll actually make, mind you), to repeat the SendThisFile thing? Because I'm out of internet at home right now, and I can't use filesharing stuff like BitTorrent at work :D

I still like the idea of Numb3rs, though the pilot squicked me a bit - I didn't know there was going to be about rape and a serial perpetrator at that (I know many people are fascinated about serial killers; I'm not one of them); I mean, it's not that in every episode, right? (The last police show I watched was Sentinel.)

Don't worry, no spoilers will come from me, and anyway they wouldn't be that detailed cause I didn't see the episode yet. Also, I'd love to STF it to you but I'm sorry, I don't have it at all. I don't know whether I'll suceed in grabbing it somewhere or if I'll have to wait for a copy...

Hmm well the serial killer thing wasn't in ep 2 nor 3 though the perpretators aren't exactly nice guys each time - we're talking serious bad guys, you know? But no, no serial killer per se nor rape in either of those episodes.

And TS wasn't exactly on the dark side of the spectrum, was it? lol I can see how the differences would be a tad disturbing when it's not exactly your cup of tea *g*

Ah, I'll try to grab it but I think it will take forever (and a day... *g*) I have internet again, but who knows for how long. And the file that has been released for eMule-like networks is twice the usual size for PDTV (poor definition tv) O_o - that's almost 700 MB! I'd better find something to do instead of contemplating the unmoving download...

Charlie's the mathematician? I'm bad with names, but I :heart: the guy, whatever his name is :D His brother's not bad either ;-) And the stuff they do with the visual effects is cool, reminds me of A Beautiful Mind when Nash started to see the patterns in the stuff around him.

Charlie's the little genius, yes *g* And he's my fave, no surprise here. Having said that, seeing him and his brother --Don-- fills me with glee, they're just so great, you know? *g* Especially in 1x02 and 1x03 - I really love those episodes.

And the stuff with the visual effects is just grand, I enjoy that a lot too.

Seems to me it wasn't a situation of people overreacting and creating more drama than was warranted. There are reasons why in the end it didn't create the KABOOM it could've, that have nothing to do with fans worrying themselves into a panic that wasn't there.

From what I heard and read about the episode and from what could be seen and heard all those months ago when the first spoilers started spreading, seems to me --yeah, different opinion here, obviously *g*-- that people were overreacting and creating more drama that was warranted, which is just the way it goes, mind. I'm glad it didn't create mayhem and chaos though, but if it didn't, it has to have a reason. And since everyone was definitely ready to get on a rampage before the episode even aired, well I can't see it differently, which of course, is just an opinion among lots of others *g*

What I'm saying -- while trying not to spoil anything, which makes it doubly hard -- is that there were very real reasons in those spoilers for fans to be upset and want to rampage, but it wasn't a matter of them realizing they'd overreacted when the episode aired. It was a matter of something having been changed between then and now, almost assuredly BECAUSE of the fan reaction, given the exact changes that were made.

Oh, all right - then I take back what I said, my bad *g* And in that case, what has been changed is quite the, well, change, because it saved the fandom, in a way. Not that it satisfied everyone, of course --that's normal too-- but at least, the big explosion seems to have been averted.

Yes exactly! I'd just about given up all hope in the writers and producers, but then they pulled this out. It shows they really do pay attention now. And from what I've been told, while it doesn't satisfy everyone, the way it was put together pretty much everyone can take something from it now, which is the way I like it.

Well I love it, at least *g* The characters are interesting, the dynamic between them is awesome, and some of the effects and visuals make the episode even more interesting. I love it to pieces, yes *g*

And true enough, there're not a lot of them yet, but we can find some fics at numb3rs_fic already and I know an archive has been created as well, so I don't have the URL right now.

I always wrote gen pairing with - like Brian-Michael for instance, but I like the ampersand as well, so Don&Charlie it'll be *g*

BTW, I added 1x05 to eMule, I can't wait anymore :D (the 1x04 file had a few glitches, and I suspect they appear at downloading; eMule has a smart corruption handling that [usually] works) so I won't be pestering you for that one. The sixth episode has not appeared on emule yet, though... :>
