B-day Girl + Lost 1x16
Feb. 18th, 2005 12:01 amFirst things first, since we just went from Thursday to Friday around here, let me wish a Happy Birthday to a very special person and wonderful friend, namely my beloved
turps33! So.
">
You already know that I love you, right? *kisses* And you already know that you'll receive card and pressie late, right? *pulls the Cute Look in order to be forgiven forusual lateness*
Second, not to go cryptic on some of you, but I decided that as of today, my new motto will be Hello, my name is Carlos. You make me so hot, which okay, isn't even a real motto, like at all, but I don't care! And when I'll get tired of this one, I'll choose Maybe he wanted to go camping because that line? Cracked me up like you wouldn't believe. So there. And maybe, I'll just use both! *is semi-cryptic but 100% silly*
Third, I watched today/yesterday and it was an okay episode. It's just that, okay, I don't dislike Sawyer and I'm not 'disinterested' in him either but he's not Charlie or Jack or Hurley or Sun or Jin or Michael... well you get the picture. Oh and he's not Rose either for that matter and btw? Where the hell is she dammit *is annoyed* So okay I was interested in the episode enough that I didn't space out while watching it, but barely - because Sawyer + Kate? Bof *shrugs* But it did have some nice character-moments, including some nice Sawyer moments, I'm not denying that, I was there after all.
So bis.
I'll start with Sawyer, of course:
I'll admit that the first scene with kid!Sawyer had me ache for the man... well, for the boy first, but for the man he would become as well. I mean, even though we knew what was going to happen, knowing isn't the same as seeing --or something-- and it was just such a sad scene. And to think the father killed himself on his kid's bed under which kid!Sawyer was hidden was... seriously disturbing. The scene where Sawyer shot the wrong guy because he'd been tricked into believing that was real!Sawyer had some tragic ring to it as well, I'll concede. When you put back every piece of Sawyer's life together, there's no wonder the man is so fucked-up, that's for sure. So yeah.
The rest of the episode amused me a lot though, Sawyer and the Big Bad Harassing Boar was quite amusing. Seriously, his He's harassing me made me laugh out loud. As did Sayid' little come back with the whole Maybe he wanted to go camping thing - they just cracked me up. Though speaking of Sayid, I wish he'd just given the answer Sawyer wanted instead of keeping on asking his own, because it was clear that Sawyer needed to know - and it was as if he'd reached out to Sayid even if for just a second and as a result... Sayid stepped back instead of reaching out as well. I don't know, I just wanted to shake Sayid during that little exchange, that was weird.
Also, how typical is it that the man Sawyer talked to on the bar was Jack's dad? But if all the characters have to have some links to one another, why not? *shrug* I'm just wondering about the revelation now. I mean, I get why Sawyer didn't tell Jack about the scene with his father - I don't think they're at a point in their relationship --if we can even talk about one, btw-- where they can talk about stuff like that, but when will he ever tell Jack? Cause if you consider the corny-drama factor surrounding that kind of revelation, the best moment to deliver it? Is during one's death scene, I'm just sayin' lol
Then it's Locke's turn:
Locke aka Yoda!Locke aka Locke All of Trades aka Locke Of the Million Stories. You sometimes get the impression that Kate is always there, as if nothing can happen without her presence, but I think even she is beaten by Locke, because damn, the man is always there and always with a new cryptic comment to give or a new story to tell. Does he have a notebook somewhere? I love that guy. He freaks me out, but I love him.
Followed by Hurley:
How much did I love his scene with Charlie? A lot. Yeah, it's always a nice way of putting it. I just love those guys and I can't get enough of them together in a same scene. They're just very cute and make a good team and this particular scene actually gave me protective!Hurley, which is of the good, very good *g*
And ending, of course, with Charlie:
Nice to see the guy was still feeling fucked-up over his killing Ethan. I would have hated to see him go on as if nothing ever happened. So smart move, guys. I just feel sorry for myself though, cause they ruined the supposedly cuteness that is Claire-Charlie now - they broke it with last week's episode, and when I saw them walking side by side there was this Fox Mulderey side of me crying out to Charlie to stay the hell away from Claire cause she's been assimilated and is now on the other side omg! - they broke the cuteness, I'm telling you!
So it was an okay episode but nothing more for me. Though next week's episode? Wow, looks so fucking good - I should go back to a SMILWTS state of mind soon enough lol

Date: 2005-02-17 11:09 pm (UTC)the scene between Sawyer and Sayid 'are you enjoying yourself?' 'yes' - dude, Sayid's expression just cracked me up!
the best moment to deliver it? Is during one's death scene
which one should die according to you? Jack or Sawyer?
Locke is soooo The Yoda Man! *amused* Methos and Locke, meme combat lol
That scene between Hurley and Charlie was priceless! and then it was followed by a Sayid-Charlie scene, which we hadn't had in a while, so me happy *g*
come on dudes, bring us next week's episode! Oh, and Numb3rs too.

Date: 2005-02-18 10:16 am (UTC)which one should die according to you? Jack or Sawyer?
That's the question, indeed lol According to my Dead Pool, Jack should survive till the end. And I didn't put Sawyer anywhere, so let's say Sawyer for my Dead Pool's sake... but uh in a *long* time, promise!
It's been a long time since we had a little Sayid-Charlie scene, true enough, it was nice. I really liked when Charlie went all 'well maybe you needed someone to check on you' on Sayid, or something, you know?
Numb3rs is tonight, yay!

Date: 2005-02-18 10:18 am (UTC)I'm with you on that one! On both account actually, ie Jin and Hurley *g*

Date: 2005-02-17 11:29 pm (UTC)*tackles and glomps you*
And you know who cares about things being late? I don't think we've managed to get gifts on time yet. The only thing that matters to me is you're still here, still my friend and still the most wonderful person ever.
I love you to bits, I hope you know that.
*hugs you tight*

Date: 2005-02-17 11:33 pm (UTC)Just asking.
Btw, Jack's little remark about the Red Sox shouldn't have set up any echoes in Sawyer's mind with the guy in the bar who'd said the same thing. Sawyer's American (from Tennessee); he should know that EVERYONE IN AMERICA who follows baseball (millions and millions of people) has been saying that about the Red Sox for decades. Too bad Flight 815 took off before last year's World Series (when the Red Sox finally won). ;-)

Date: 2005-02-18 10:25 am (UTC)Ah ah, I didn't think about that - though no surprise here, mind *g* Though bis, re the Red Sox, even I know about their miraculous victory lol Not that it made it to the news here, of course, but my flist almost went crazy at the time, so it definitely stuck with me *g*

Date: 2005-02-17 11:47 pm (UTC)I haven't seen it yet, being in the states, but a British listsib posted that bit of conversation for us and I nearly swallowed my tongue.
Doesn't matter what else happens in the entire episode. I'll love it JUST FOR THAT SCENE.

Date: 2005-02-18 10:27 am (UTC)And I so second that, even if the rest ends up crappy? Who cares cause THAT SCENE will save it!

Date: 2005-02-18 12:45 am (UTC)And slashers around the world squeed and wept with joy. Of course he does, Carlos! He makes Jack hot, too. *vbg*
I haven't seen it, but I am so spoiled, lol! I couldn't stand not knowing.

Date: 2005-02-18 10:32 am (UTC)OMG you're a genius! lol They did, they sure did.
And I don't know Carlos yet --haven't seen the episode either-- but I already love him because the man is smart enough to know 'hot' when he sees it lol
Something else I would love to see? Jack going all
jealous!alpha maleindignant on Daniel's ass cause someone dared see his hotness *eg* Of course I have no idea how this could work cause I don't even know where Jack was at the time and stuff, but who cares about details! And AU-to-AR exist as well, right?no subject

Date: 2005-02-18 10:53 am (UTC)And can you explain how Jack's dad knows Sawyer?
Sure. Though technically, Jack's dad doesn't know Sawyer. They just met in a bar and talked, is all. Okay here the scene : Sawyer is sitting on one end of the counter, moping and drinking his way into further despair. Anyway, there's this other guy on the other end of the counter --I'm not even sure you call that a counter, btw, sorry if I'm not using the right word *sigh*-- and said guy starts to talk to Sawyer. Sawyer actually replies to him instead of biting his head off and Jack's dad --cause of course we realise it's him-- comes closer and starts to be all wise and nice on Sawyer's ass. Wanna see?

Daddy: You are suffering. Don't beat yourself about it, it's fate some people have to suffer. That why the Red Sox won't ever win the World series. I have a son, about your age. He's not like me, he does what says his heart. He's a good man - maybe a great one. Right now he thinks that I hate him. He thinks that I feel betrayed by him, but what I really feel is gratitude, and pride because of what he did to me - what he did for me. It took more courage than I have *looks on the right/left/whatever* There's a payphone over here. I could pick it up and call my son. Tell him about all of this. Tell him I love him. Just one simple phone all and I could fix everything.
Sawyer: *definitely paying attention* Why don't you?
Daddy: Because I am weak. So this business you're here for, will it ease your suffering?
S: Yeah
D: So what are you doing here?
S: It ain't that simple.
D: Sure it is, if you don't want to end up like me, of course it is.
So at this point, Sawyer still had no idea he was talking to a man who would end up being, in fact, Jack's dad, but back on the island, at the end of the episode, Jack says something about 'that's why the Red Sox won't ever win the World Series' in front of Sawyer and suddenly Sawyer asks him about his dad, and realises who exactly it was that he spoke to at the time. He doesn't tell Jack about his father's confession of love though, not yet at least.

Date: 2005-02-18 02:44 pm (UTC)Wow! t would be so great if you could send it to me!
What's "to STF", btw?
*bounces*
no subject
Date: 2005-02-19 11:40 am (UTC)Also 'to STF a file' is to send a file --episode, song, whatever-- using sharing file programs like YouSendIt --which I'm not liking that much these days-- and SendThisFile. It's uber simple and really practical. The sender uploads the file of their choise on the server and the recipient receives a link of said file once the upload is finished which will direct them to the page where they'll download said file. No need to be on-line at the same time like you need to if you're using MSN or AIM, and no inbox risks being clogged since you only receive a little link *g*
It's a gem!

Date: 2005-02-19 10:55 am (UTC)I just wanted to notify you that the email with the link is sent; I sent it to your LJ address, counting on the fact that it should be the one you check most frequently ;-)
Re: Hello, my name is Carlos!
Date: 2005-02-19 11:27 am (UTC)Am downloading the file atm, thank youuuuuuuuuuuu *kisses* As for my addy, I actually have my different addies arrive at the same inbox, so I technically check them all at the same time, but yeah, if I haven't done that, my LJ address would sorta be the one I'd check most frequently lol

Date: 2005-02-19 12:53 pm (UTC)I didn't get any error messages, and the link looks like the links from STF do...
If it doesn't work, I'll try to upload it from work because I don't know if I can pull the trick for more six hours here... But this would wait until Monday, so I can write it on a CD and 'stealthily' do my dirty trick at work :D
