Also, I can't help be a bit envious of those who watched the trilogy when it first came out. You know, when it was truly new - I wonder how it was. They were showing the crowd, the lines in front of the theaters and just, wow!
I was just a year older than you are when the first film was released, and, yes, it was pretty amazing. We'd really never seen anything like it, and of course had no idea that this was going to turn into one of those cultural milestones. I went to see the next two films as well, but it took such a very long time for the "prequel" films to be made that by the time they came out I'd lost interest. So in a way you guys are luckier than we were; you can see all the films one right after the other, and your tastes haven't changed. For my generation, it was like Coke was our beverage of choice when the first three films were released, but by the time the fourth film rolled around we were laying down wine cellars.
