Question about layers - on pics. Aka help, someone?

Am still playing with the layout - tweaking this and tweaking that. I thought the header could wait a little, so I decided that a mini-background-on-the-side could do, ie I would have Pictures To Ogle Whenever I Want To Even While Scrolling Down - and SG, TS and Numb3rs would still be represented. So. I'm still trying to find the correct succession of pics and so on. I'm not delusional enough to believe that said little background-on-the-side will actually look fine on all your screens and browsers but see it's okay on my screen and browser and, well, for now, it's enough for me for I am two years old and it's all about me me me *cough* It also looks okay on my dad's computer and he uses a different browser so everything considered, it's not so bad. I think. Maybe. I may decide to beg for a header later on, one never knows.

Also I have a question... So see the pictures in question? Is there a way to add a layer on that background in order to have it mesh with the blue of the layout - is it possible to, I don't know, give it a bluish tone so that the theme of my layout is being kept? Or a sort of transparent... whiteish tone so that it will have a connexion with the white of the entries. Just a layer which will make the bar connected to the layout? Or will it completely mess up aforementioned pictures since they all have different colours and tones and all? I have no idea how those layers work - except that they look awfully pretty and classy on pictures - so if it's possible and if one of you could do it, please let me know? I'll send the background your way so you can do your magic. Thanks *pleading look*

Something that amuses me to no end is how every single one of those songs is linked with a tv show I either adore or really like. Ah no wait, Kiseki no Umi isn't - well, that's still four out of five *g* And each one of those songs [again, except for Kiseki no Umi] has a story behind it. Actually, this meme is even sweeter than I thought lol

Changing the subject - Everything being linked with QAF US - I can't believe Ep 504 airs tomorrow and I still haven't downloaded 503 *sigh*

Lastly, a message to all those I owe CDs of this and that [Numb3rs, Lost, The Sentinel and so on] I haven't forgotten you at all. I'm just taking more time that I'd planned for some of you - sorry about that - but I'll burn everything as soon as I'm done with my exams, I promise.

Hey, "change is good" is my motto lately, so, yeah. :-) And I'm *adoring* the layout, actually. I had to come back just to look at it. :-) The funny thing is, I'd been toying with the idea of changing mine, even though I'm not unhappy with it... but I think that this one is too complicated for me. It's the Flexible Squares layout, right? I looked at the community that yami_tai mentions below and almost had a heart attack at the confusingness of it all. Did you have to do a lot of creating your own stuff and all, rather than just choosing options through the nice interface for dummies? Because I just don't have the energy to figure all that stuff out...

That's the one. And complicated? Not at all. Since I'm lazy these days I'm using S2 and you don't have anything to do with S2 when you want to customise. Seriously. You have all the options in front of you and you just need to click, that's all *g*

I'm thinking of adding something else to the bar [a box with little icons] but this I would need to work around and right now, I just want the uncomplicated tweaking, you know? *g*

Hey I'm sure it'll look great when finished and at least you know how to do all this stuff. I was given a code by someone tallisen I believe...either that or she offered and I must reconsider taking her up on that offer but me I don't even know how to add images to my LJ entries even after having read the FAQ on it. DAMN!

Anyway I'm sure the new layout will look fabulous with a header and I'm sure I'll be very envious of it *sigh*

Hmm QAF. I fear I have become quite addicted to that show since my best friend started bringing the episodes over so we could watch them. It's a shame I wasn't hooked before the final season but I am now and Lord Brian Kinney is hot! I told her I was becoming quite drawn to the man and she told me I'd have to fight her for him *pout* guess I'll have to stick to good ole Danny boy eh? *snicker*

Now I bet you're really confused by this entry but I wanted to post because I feel as if I've been a stranger too long with all the crap going on in my RL and I must get myself back on track. Hey I've even made entries every day of the month of June (well maybe not every day but close enough and hey who cares if it's only June 4th right?)

Anyway I miss chatting with you and all my other LJ friends so I figured I had better get back to life as it had been before the "dreaded night shift"...

Okay see, your comment made me laugh because this? Is the final layout lol I'm not going to use the header cause headers aren't visible once you scroll down the page and it defeats the purpose. Well mine, anyway, cause yeah, headers are usually fucking gorgeous *g* But I'll keep the pictures on the right since I can see them even when scrolling down. The only change that I'll do is - maybe - have those same pics with a layer on them, but that's all. I quite like the result as it is, so no more tweaking. Well, maybe add a box on the bar with some HTML coding in it, but that'll just be minor and I'm not sure yet.

I've fallen for QAF US in, like, two days? That was scary lol I was already a huge fan of the UK version but I didn't want to try the US one because, well, american versions usually kill the spirit of the originals, but this time, even with all the melodrama and soapy approach, it worked *g* I'm a huge Michael and Brian-Michael and Ben/Michael fan *g

Well hey, you're certainly going through a hard time so of course you're going to focus on yourself, this isn't a problem at all *g* I just hope everything will work out in the end because wow, you've been through some crappy months! *hugs*

Sorry when I first replied the pictures on the side were cut off and then after I sent the message and it appeared as posted I was able to see the full pics and the layout was much nicer! : D

My only thing is the pics don't move as you scroll down. I've seen a few where they've added tons of pics and as you scroll down you see different ones but those journals also take forever to appear too! : D

I like the headers too. I've seen some really great ones but I could never do anything like that. Heck I can't even figure out Paint Shop Pro to make icons that look all neat and such. Oh well I can dream...

I like Brian and Michael too. That damned UST keeps it going for me and don't shoot me now but I also like Brian and Justin. Of course I'm still on season 1 so I haven't seen the lovely eppy where Brian and Michael finally...

Um how much of the US version have you seen because I don't want to spoil anything. I just know things that are coming up...

Anyway I also haven't seen that episode where everyone would like to kindly kill Justin or beat the crap out of him for what he does to Brian so...after that I may change my mind about those two. Who knows. Either way I'm now addicted to that damned show all thanks to Becky! : D

In regards to my crappy months...

They're still crappy but at least I'm better handling them. I still hate the job and need a vacation desperately but I'm doing okay for the moment so that's a good thing I suppose. Let's hope it stays that way or improves : )

There's an option to have the pics scrolling down or not. I had them fixed cause it always makes me seasick when the pictures aren't lol

Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro are complete mysteries to me! I don't know how either works. Maybe one day I'll be brave and try one of those, people apparently have so much fun when they play with them, but right now, it's not happening *is a wuss*

I have seen all the series up to 503 [even have the first three seasons on DVDs - eBay and Asian versions are my friends *eg*] so there's no way you could spoil me, go ahead lol

It's not that I don't like Brian/Justin, it's more that I'm not interested, know what I mean? They're here but I just... I'm like, well okay, they're here. I just wait until the scenes are over so that I can get the interactions I want lol
