New concert

Went to bed at 1.30 last night, it's now midnight and I feel fine - I think I'm on the right track again! Hopefully, there won't be no dead-on-my-feet as early at 9.00 PM anymore. Oh, the indignity of going to bed between 9.00 and 10.00 PM - and, ok, before you start kicking me in the head, this is an indignity for me because I'm used to going to bed around 1.00 AM, is all. It might sound stupid but going to bed so early means that I was losing three or four hours every day and we don't have enough hours in a day as it is, so.

Anyway. Guess who was at the Parisian Green Day concert last night? Me! It was a kick-ass show, with pyrotechnics (I startled and squeed every time something "exploded", which happened often) and many interactions between Billie and the audience (that man definitely likes to play with his audience, all right, and a concert crowd is always so easy, great combo!). He had many people going on stage throughout the whole show and though we didn't get a repeat performance of the Awesome Stephanie Moment, he had three fans go up on stage and sing one of his songs - with more or less success depending on who he picked, but I'm still in awe because I wouldn't ever dare raise my hands, even if I knew the song by heart. No way.

Tre Kool (the drummer?) kept throwing his drumsticks behind him whenever he'd finish a song (seriously, how many drumsticks did he have?) and then in the end he gave them away to the mosh pit crowd and I must admit that I'd have loved getting one. Even though I'd have thought of Spencer Smith when looking at it. Also, there was this little medley and Billie sang a bit of Shout and it made me think of Brendon so that was lovely too :-) Not that I think of p!atd other bands when I'm at someone's concert, of course! Or just a little. I might have mentioned Bob Bryar at one point too, so sue me!

Oh, also! After the opening act (Prima Donna) and before Green Day arrived, there was this drunk pink bunny furry that came on stage and, among other things, danced on YMCA. No, seriously. [livejournal.com profile] moimoietmoi suggested a tech had lost a bet. [livejournal.com profile] greedy_dancer thinks it might have been Pete Wentz. I? Just don't know. I mean, drunk pink bunny furry dancing on stage, man. What do you want me to say? If someone has an answer, I'm all ears! Is the pink bunny associated with Green Day?

I'm off work for two weeks and I have to say I started my holiday spendidly. Concert on Friday night, then relaxing weekend en famille and a nice Monday out. The rest of the week should be pretty cool too as I've something planned pretty much everyday.

My third concert this year - did I mention that I used to never go to concerts? Like, I've been to more gigs in 2009 than I went in, oh basically all my life? But that's in the past, I'm on the lookout for more concerts now *nodnod* - so, anyway my third concert this year was Arai Akino. I coudn't believe it when I saw she was in France! Especially as I stumbled on the news completely by accident.

The show was excellent! It was a very intimate setting - small stage, small theater - and the instruments used were my favourites : piano, guitar and violin. It made for gorgeous music, believe you me :-) That and I just love Arai Akino's voice and melodies. Also, she's the cutest thing on stage! I wanted to coo at her all the time.

Arai Akino - just two pics )

I really enjoyed the opening act as well, namely Yaneka, a mini band made of two siblings; brother and sister.

Changing the subject now. It'd seem I got my Asylum confirmation letter? Only it doesn't look like a confirmation letter at all. I mean, sure, Tai and me, we have our package numbers now, but there's no name on the document I have, no nothing... just a little booklet with our numbers. Is this supposed to be the confirmation letter? Or maybe I should just go and read the different announcements over at the Asylum comm and/or website? Maybe.

Oh, and this has nothing to do with anything but I bought the first two volumes of Fables today and I'm sorta smitten with it. I think I'll get the whole series *nods*

PS: I meant to mention it but kept forgetting. Re: twitter. If you find an account called "cas talie/mousey", don't follow it thinking it's me, because I don't use that one. At all. I don't even remember creating that account, to be honest. I do get the notifications when someone adds me but that's it. So, if you do want to follow me, follow "castalie". Though I'll warn you that I only use twitter to stalk follow the boys in my favourite bands or my favourite authors etc. I haven't updated my twitter account in ages.

HI! Just got home from the Fall Out Boy concert in Paris - where I was with [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound and [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy - and hee omg! Who needs drugs when they can go to that kind of concert? No, I'm asking! It's past 2.00 AM and I have to go to work tomorrow/today and I'm so high I'm not tired in the slightest - I do hurt all over because dancing like mad + mosh pit = soreness when the concert is done, though, not that it has anything to do with the not feeling tired - and I'm still vibrating ;-) How do I go to sleep after that? Again, I'm asking!

In no order, a few things: they did songs from old and new albums; which I loved! Classic and newbies, best of two worlds! They sang Beat It, as well. Oh, Patrick said a whole sentence in French! And Pete did the jumping and spinning on himself while playing like a mad thing a couple of times, and he talked about his wife, which was the cutest. And the guy is talkative, he kept talking to us all the time ♥ ♥ Joe looked a bit stoned. Pete and Patrick were adorable together. Patrick absolutely rocked. Pete is an energiser bunny, like, he's already on the right end of the stage when you could swear he was on the left just a nanosecond ago! And Andy was completely high on his drumming. Dude, those guys, they're such great performers!

I might write a report later on but I have to share some of my pics right away - they're just shrunk, ie untouched by photoshop, but I love them to pieces - and actually think they're not that bad for concert pics.

I'm just sharing a few now and I apologise in advance for the lack of Andy and Joe but Patrick was right in front of me, as was Pete, so it was just much easier to take pictures of them. I do have a couple I can share, anyway, so hopefully it'll do.

A dozen of pictures of FOB being awesome. Concert in Paris. )

And! I also filmed a little so I have some Patrick singing on my HD now. I wanted to share at least two but my upload is being moody and I'll admit I'm a bit too lazy to do anything about it now, so for those interested, I'll try again later :-)

Big news of the day is that I'M GOING TO SEE FALL OUT BOY IN PARIS IN MARCH! The tickets have been bought today \o/ Thanks go to [livejournal.com profile] jedicathy for being the best concert news spy ever and to [livejournal.com profile] crazybutsound for being super fast with the ticket purchase. I gave [livejournal.com profile] angeliksmall the Infinity on High CD so that she can listen to it and decide whether she wants to join the three of us to the concert.

First bandom concert ever! So exciting! *bouncebounce*

I'm full of bandom love these days. I mean, more than usual. But what with MCR twittering and blogging - oh, MCR, how so awesome? Gerard writes tv reviews! Frank fanboys Gerard! And googles him to find a pic to use in his entry! Bless ♥ ♥ - and the Panic Live in Chicago DVD teasers we get here and there, plus all the gazillion stories and picspams that graced my flist the past few days, it's like Christmas really started early this year!

And speaking of awesome things one finds on LJ, like everyone and their flists, I've watched the Prop 8 Musical and it was genius!

When I think about it, I've seen some hilarious videos today! [livejournal.com profile] gillyp linked me to some extracts from the latest IT Crowd episode and Cookie and I took advantage of people still not being back from lunchbreak to watch them in her office. Let me tell you it was a very, very good thing no-one was back yet, because we were laughing so hard! I'm gonna download - then buy - the three seasons asap! Moss and Roy and Jen are l.o.v.e! I'm especially smitten with Moss ♥ ♥
