Sep. 1st, 2004 10:30 pmOhhh there's Charlie O'Bannon in tonight's Without a Trace, and he's all grown-up and he looks all confident and he's a jerk, and wow where has my sweet and multi-phobic Charlie gone? *g* And there was Em's lover, George Schickel, in tonight's Navy NCIS.
I love when shows collide, did I already tell you? *g*
Anyway...
I was wondering, do you think they're offering some icons or badges over at
ship_manifesto with the slogan 'I'm
ship_manifesto's bitch' or maybe 'I'm
ship_manifesto's pimp'? Because see, I'm going to pimp it again - and you can bet I'll do it again in the near future, so yeah.
lamardeuse and
misanthrope7842 posted their essay on Jim/Blair and it was really great *g* I love reading about my boys, and I love the idea of people not into the fandom reading about them and being showed how much they love each other and how beautiful they are together - makes me all tingly *g*
ETA: The ending of Are You Now Or Have You Ever Been? was just chilling - when Spalding mentioned the fifteen minutes? Gave me goosebumps - damn! *shudder*

Date: 2004-09-02 01:06 am (UTC)Okay basically, in ep 5 the team works on the case of a young man who they discover has been abducted by the headmaster of his school who likes - headmaster who they find out is a pedophile. The guy, Spalding, kidnapped the kid, hid him in a cave, drugged him and raped him... letting him in the cave as his toy to play with whenever he wanted - and in order not to get caught.
Anyway, to make a long story short, Jack and Co found out the whole thing but to save Andy, and because a) time was running short and b) they knew who the culprit was, they didn't really follow procedure. In the end, they did save the kid and framed Spalding, but there was some this idea that the whole affair could come back to haunt them because we all know what justice does when procedure hasn't been respected.
The chilling thing had to do with a particular line. See, when Jack was trying to make Spalding admit what he'd done with Andy and where he'd hidden him and everything, he played Spalding's desire for young men... Jack started to talk like a pedophile would --which was painful enough-- and promised Spalding he would get fifteen minutes with his 'young flesh' if he helped them... Just after they'd found Andy, disgusting!Spalding actually asked for his fifteen minutes, to which Jack who was seething with anger told him they were over after all.
In last night's episode, the case did come back to haunt them... their witness, ie Andy, wasn't reliable enough because a) he was scared shitless to face his rapist and b) he'd been drugged at the time and suddenly Jack and Martin became the only thing that would allow Spalding to go to prison... the problem was, with everything that happened they both suddenly were said to have framed Spalding without respecting his rights and stuff... in the end, Spalding was set free. Right after the judge explained that because the procedure hadn't been followed he had to free Spalding, the guy approached Jack and Martin and with a satisfied and disgusting leer he whispered that his fifteen minutes weren't over after all - that was chilled me, the knowledge that the man was now free to do it all over again, everyone knowing he would and being unable to stop him *shudder*
